A word doesn't really exist in my dictionary to explain 2020. I'd use the word unprecedented, but I've grown to hate that word.
I'll just say that it has been difficult. Difficult for everyone.
2020, for me, has been life altering.
COVID-19 forced me to relocate from across the world.
I migrated back into a country that was not equipped to handle the virus.
I also had limited options in the way of stability and my choices ultimately moved me to Phoenix for a graduate program.
In the beginning of August.
Everything felt like Satan's oven in comparison to the cold north that I grew up in.
Anyway, my details don't matter.
Elements Massage on Camelback has been one of the very few places that I have found that makes me calm.
Alana (I hope that is the correct spelling of her name.), working the front desk, has been there every time. She has what I assume to be a British accent (One day I will work up the courage to ask if that is true.). Regardless of where the accent is from I enjoy hearing it. It makes me feel fancy. Every time I've gone, she has asked how things are going with something I've mentioned in the past. She remembers details. She does this with every client that goes in. It's nice.
The shop always smells like a fancy massage place. They keep it clean. And, I feel like I'm not only getting a massage from their extremely talented staff, but also in a strange way, therapy.
I'm always taken aback with how I feel when I leave. Massages have really improved my mental health.
Patricia does my massages. She is extremely professional and always starts our sessions off by asking if I consent to being touched in certain places. Places like my pecks or glutes. I found that strange at first. I'm not someone to really care about such things but I understand how some people would really appreciate those sort of questions.
I've always received a text a day or two before my appointment to remind me and the person on the other side is always responsive.
Anyway, I've received an experience from this place that I haven't from other massage places. An experience so positive that I decided to sit down and write this.
If you have tension and stress, I recommend giving this place a...
Read moreI have been getting professional massages for years and I usually get one once a month. I am on vacation and needed a some place to get my monthly massage. This place looked legit...oh how wrong I was. First of all, way over priced. They are asking $99 for an hour massage and gave me a "discount" for it being my first massage this $69. The front desk gal was amazing and very prompt about everything and scheduling was extremely easy. I showed up 10 min before my appointment, filled out the necessary papers but my therapist didn't even come and get me until 10 min after my scheduled time! Then I get to the back room for my massage and the therapist didn't have anything together. She didn't turn the bed heater on or even had her lotions there. A few minutes into my massage and the therapist turns on an annoying fan....how can one relax with that noise ? And then she didn't talk to me the entire time. Never asked about the pressure and never even read my chart. I specifically asked to not have my legs or feet rubbed and she spent majority of the time rubbing them and it hurt. Most massage therapists make their massages have a flow and sense of balance, whatever you do the left side you do the right....no she was all over the place and it had no flow. One moment she's relaxing my neck the next she's down at my toes and she even tried popping my toes ! No massage therapists are not suppose to pop anything ! Then towards the end of the massage she put my hair in a pony tail and tugged on it !! I felt like she was trying to rip my fricken hair out it was horrible ! I do NOT recommend this place. They even asked for a 20% tip at the end....yeah no...
Read moreThis rating goes to the male receptionist who has a terrible -rude attitude, good luck with customer retention. Please do not give them your credit card number. I got a massage, on January, 1st, the male receptionist convinced me to enroll in their membership, what he didn’t mention is that within 2 weeks of getting a massage, they were going to charge credit card multiple times for different amounts the same day!
I’m stopping by, to speak to a manager, I had one massage on January 1st which I already paid that day. I got a call from male receptionist, he called to remind me that i missed an appointment, I told him I must’ve forgotten and that I wanted to reschedule if possible, instead he charged my card without my permission 45.00 plus 2 more charges if 79. 00 for what l ?!! ….if I already paid for the only massage I got on January 1st,. I tried to be reasonable and civil with him but he’s just one of those people that has no empathy, no sympathy , no basic customer service skills, he does not have the ability to listen & put himself in the customer shoes. I actually got a weird vibe from him? Something is off: he enjoys putting people down, he enjoys seeing somebody in pain or in distress, he enjoys control & power AND for that, I’m coming to speak personally to a manager, let’s see what his sassy disrespectful AXX says about that!
Nobody needs to go thru credit card abuse…. just because they have it on record, they can run it anytime they want, that alone it’s called a SCAM!! This is completely unacceptable, it’s fraud &...
