We had a first birthday party at The Teapot and overall it was a success. The outdoor area is adorable and a great background for pictures. The playhouse was great entertainment for the kids. They were very accommodating for things like our little photo booth area and provided us with a smaller table to set that stuff on and a high chair for her to use to eat her first cake. The food that we ordered from the catering menu came out quite late. We had one salad come out and then an hour or so later the rest of it came out. I think they were a bit understaffed for hosting 2 birthday parties as well as being open for regular coffee shop business. When the food did come out, it was very good and the two young ladies working there were very friendly and polite about it. My only other constructive feedback would be that for the price of reserving a table, they should be willing to provided some water and not try to charge $25 for fruit infused water. We ended up just bringing a case of water bottles but I thought it was a little unreasonable to say no to providing plain water when that's something any restaurant you go to would do. Anyway, overall we are very happy with it and would certainly come get coffee and eat there again.

My wife and I had our small wedding at The Teapot and we very much enjoyed the evening and appreciate Jonathan and his sweet staff. From the beginning of wedding planning Jonathan was very responsive, kind, and informative. There were two instances where I was left uneasy though. The first was we were told chairs were usually $200 but he’d charge us $150 “at cost” when we initially booked and we ended up paying $200 for them anyway. I only mention it because I’d want to know if a vendor went back on their word, no matter how small. We also were surprised in July when Jonathan stated he needed to add an additional staff member of his own for $300 because he didn’t trust friends/family to clean up anymore. I understand that could be a new policy for new weddings being booked but we were already 5 months into our booking and 4 months from our wedding at that point. Luckily, we did have hired help, so we avoided the additional fee. Overall though, the venue itself is adorable and the decor they offered really helped pull it all together. I would still recommend this venue for any event and love love love our photos/memories here! Also LGBTQ+ friendly!!!

We had a baby shower at the Teapot over Labor day weekend. I cant say enough positive things about this location! The venue was incredibly charming and chic. The venue was perfect for our event. We had about 15 people for an indoor shower and it was the perfect amount of space to have one room for entertaining and playing games and another room that held the favors, gifts, and an advice station for the mom to be. I worked with Jonathan arranging everything for the shower. He was incredibly helpful prior to the event (as I had never seen the venue). His emails were prompt in their response and he even included a photo for my guests to show all the locations they could park during the event. The day of he was helpful rearranging the tables and setting up for the event so that it would be what I needed specifically for my event and my guests. He was incredibly accommodating! Would 100% recommend this location for anyone looking to hold an event or if you're just looking for somewhere new to stop in and have a coffee and read the paper this is the place to go!!

This review is severely delayed and kinda long, but the Teapot is an AMAZING venue. My husband and I had our intimate wedding there last February, with about 35 guests. Working with Jonathan and Realynn was seriously perfect. They are so flexible and professional. Everything was exceptionally affordable too—like seriously, we are a young, money-savvy and somewhat unconventional couple who really didn’t want to spend big on this whole wedding thing, and our final cost for the services was under $2,300 for the venue, beer/wine/coffee bar, tables & seating, some décor, sound system, and in-house “DJ” services.

We met a few times in person to decide the arrangement of the space, and they gave us the flexibility of choosing the ceremony and reception locations. We ended up having the ceremony on the front porch facing the (very quiet) street, and the reception in the backyard, so that people could mingle inside and grab their food & drinks on the way to go sit in the backyard.

I think the best aspect of The Teapot that sets them apart from most other venues is that we were able to decide how much décor and food we wanted to bring in ourselves versus what we wanted to rent from them, which took a TON of stress off us in terms of cost, planning, and set-up!!

We were able to bring in food from an outside catering vendor and had the cake dropped off by the bakery a few hours beforehand, as The Teapot had fridge space to keep it in. We paid a very reasonable amount for equally priced drink “tickets” that covered about 2 drinks for everyone, and they had a perfect selection of beers, wine, seltzers, lemonade, tea, and made-to-order espresso/coffee drinks as well. It was literally so cool to be able to have a latte and a glass of wine, both for the same price.

I purchased and made inexpensive centerpieces and aisle décor (glass cylinders with floating candles) that my mom and mother-in-law easily prepped and set-up beforehand in the hour before the ceremony.

We paid the Teapot to use their tables and benches, as well as the archway and table linens. They had a small charge to use the in-house speaker system that played both inside and outside, and I was able to have Jonathan cue up our ceremony songs and playlist throughout the event using my personal laptop, which was super important to us and was absolutely perfectly-handled.

After the ceremony, the stronger guests transported the benches to the backyard for the reception, and people mingled and got their drinks. We were having so much fun chatting and taking post-ceremony photos that no one even noticed that our catering was an hour late!

The reception in the backyard was absolutely beautiful. We had a bride & groom table in front of a pretty green leafy backdrop we rented from The Teapot, and they had set up our neon sign we brought in. There was a little table off to the side where we signed our marriage certificate and had a photo op. When we did speeches, we used a more portable mic and speaker system that we also rented on-site. Everything was extremely relaxed and smooth, and Jonathan kept the drinks going from inside the house.

We scheduled 30 minutes for cleanup at the end while people said their goodbyes, and our families basically just gathered all our homemade décor while Jonathan and his little crew cleaned up the tablecloths, etc. We ended the night by walking down the street to the best bar in Phoenix, Gracie’s!!

We cannot thank The Teapot enough for making our special day an absolute success. Jonathan allowed us to take the lead on all the transitions during the event while he hung back and ran the bar, and he was very communicative and responsive for all the planning during the months leading up to the wedding.

If you want a beautiful, intimate venue in a quiet and historic neighborhood that is walking distance to Roosevelt Row and downtown and run by the sweetest people, it does NOT get any better than The Teapot. I highly recommend them for your cozy weddings, baby showers, kid & adult birthdays, work parties, and...

My wife and I had a beautiful ceremony here this past weekend, and Jonathan was always helpful with us, whether we knew what we wanted or were still trying to figure things out. We first came in just to learn what was possible, and Jonathan gave us a full walkthrough. His emails were informative, his manner was friendly, his invoices were itemized, and his execution of what we wanted was very flexible. There were decisions we came to within the last two weeks before our wedding began, and Jonathan had no problem making them a priority. He and his teammate Savannah were accommodating of us and our guests, welcomed us, and made us feel like we didn't have to "run everything" as we hung out with our friends and family.

Some key points about The Teapot for anyone wanting a wedding venue:

They have fantastic pricing and great execution. These are considerate people who remind you what you're here for. This place is on a mostly residential road in downtown Phoenix. It's perfect for intimate gatherings like ours. They were willing to accommodate our dog to come as well. We had a wedding attendance of 21 people, and their kitchen was able to handle our food storage needs overnight. Communication is key -- If you're not sure they can help with something at The Teapot, just ask! Jonathan was prepared for any question and even accommodated some unique requests from our group.

Thanks again for making this the best possible wedding I could have asked for. My wife was thoroughly thankful for the way things were handled at The Teapot, as was I. Our family and friends also couldn't stop marveling at how cute the venue is. Before you check anywhere else in the Valley, ask for Jonathan at The Teapot. He just might have what you're...
