Overpriced place for the typical wealthy Plano residents.
Came in and asked for a fauxhawk hairstyle which was pretty involved but I figured an $85 haircut would be able to hack it. I was wrong. I get paying that much for a full beard trim and style and everything, but for a normal haircut it was a robbery.
I was paired with a random middle-aged black guy with zero personality, was completely mute the entire haircut. I tried making conversation and I'd just get "Mmhm." I told him how my last hairstylist did it (she got a better job) and he ignored my input and used exclusively a shaver and barely any scissors, so naturally it came out horribly. Split ends, uneven cut, just a mess. It actually forced me to completely change my hairstyle to avoid people making fun of my hair when I had to come in to work. I know my hair is tough to nail but he showed zero interest in learning about my natural part or hair products I like to use, just bulldozed right through it.
I tried making ANY conversation and thought "black guy in America, he probably leans left" before I was shocked to hear him say "Trump needs to get rid of all of the immigrants." Just disgusting to know this guy has no understanding of political history and elects fascists, nor can he give a decent cut to save his life. What good are you to anyone?
He turned on his personality temporarily when the cut was done and he was wanting a tip, but it was THE MOST awkward haircut of my entire life and the conclusion makes me cringe to think about....
Read moreGreat barbers and atmosphere, and one of the few barbershops that does appointments which is huge for me. So convenient! Have only heard and experienced good things at this place. My barber John recently moved to this location from the allen location ,and i followed John because John is the man! Master craftsman and very consistent, never lets me down! Also cuts my hair while facing the mirror, so the entire time I can see exactly whats going on, another mark of a great barber. Ive had to use a few other barbers when john is out of town and they've all done a good job as well. From what i've see everyone there is very good at what they do. Good barbers can be hard to find and these guys seem to do a good job of it. The reception staff is also very friendly and accommodating. Ive got lots of experience in the barber business and my hair is difficult. The majority of barbers struggle to consistently cut my hair well. Not boardroom, this place is legit! If you can afford to pay up front, the memberships are a great value and very convenient, im very satisfied with my membership. I get a great cut and shampoo weekly, i highly recommend the basic membership. But If you want to spend a few extra bucks you can get pampered and the whole shabang afterwards. Im happy to say my days of getting up early, waiting in line, and paying for sub par hair cuts is over. Boardroom is...
Read moreI’d been visiting the Boardroom in Allen for a while, but needed to make the switch to a location closer to my office. I came to Google looking for reviews to see if anyone stuck out at the Shops at Legacy location, and kept seeing John’s name over and over and over. I booked an appointment, and WOW, am I glad I did! John (who is also the Salon Manager) has certainly earned every positive review written about him, and also has built up a great staff around him. John first asked me what I’d like to do with my hair, made some suggestions, answered questions about why my hair does certain things, and then made my hair look exactly how I’d described! At the end, he even showed me how to style my hair the way he did so I could repeat the look at home. John NAILED it, and I’ll definitely be a repeat customer of his for the foreseeable future. On my way out, the ladies at the front desk were extremely friendly and conversational and helped me pick the products I wanted to buy without being pushy or trying to guide me to certain products.
I highly recommend any Boardroom location (as they’re all good) but John and the Boardroom at Shops at Legacy have gone above and beyond.
I’ll see you in a few weeks for...
