Beautiful park with stunning views of Lake Michigan, downtown Port Washington, the harbor, the lighthouse, breakwater walls, etc. The park is spectacularly maintained. There is a ramp access raised wood boardwalk with benches over a wildflower area that also offers amazing views. The gazebo with a winding staircase to a 360 degree view lookout of the entire park is finished and the lookout is lit at night with color changing LED lighting. Read moreA very nice little park on the lakeshore in Port Washington. When you walk around it you can marvel at the fact that the whole area was once a huge mountain of coal. The coal fuelled the massive power plant that is still there, and which has since switched to natural gas. Quite the transformation for the better!!
This park is very picturesque; you can walk around the park on the paved path, or you can walk over the bridge and follow the dirt path to South Beach. It is often windy there, the open space lends itself nicely to kite flying.
