My husband and I visited Port Washington for Valentine’s Day. We love Duluth products and purchase online regularly, this was my first time in a store so I was pretty excited! We went to the coffee shop that is in the store, and got a drink and began shopping. I had a face shield because I can’t wear a mask due to asthma and my husband had his shield too. A woman named Carol told us we have to wear our masks, we asked if we can drink our coffee, she said yes but we have to have masks. Confused about how we are supposed to drink our coffee with masks we just keep shopping, Carol proceeds to follow us around the store as if we are wanted criminals. A few minutes later my husband lifts his mask to take a drink of his coffee and the store manger comes by, and starts in on my husband about a mask. He asks if it’s the store policy or her policy and she stated she is the store manager and he has to keep the mask on. Needless to say we didn’t feel welcome and were humiliated. Once the Manager succeeded in talking down to us and walked away, a local couple came up and apologized for their behavior. They didn’t work there they just witnessed the harassment. They emphatically apologized and claimed they were shocked at how the manager and employee treated us as tourists. They left without purchasing anything because they were so appalled. We went to a store next door to find a coat for me, as I had never been in such cold temperatures, unfortunately they didn’t carry my size and we had to go back to Duluth. We waited in line and the manager was checking out a woman and her child and was perfectly cordial and professional. But when we got to her it was as if we had kicked her dog and she was going to let us know of her disdain for us. The message was well received. Carol continued to stalk us until we left the store. However, there was a older gentleman there by the name of Jeff who was inviting and kind and told us about sales and offered help if we needed it, unfortunately we had little interaction with him. We understand that the corona virus is real and that there are people who are very afraid but we didn’t do anything to deserve this treatment. If people can’t drink coffee in the store then don’t serve coffee in the store, put a wall up that leads to the coffee shop to keep them separated. Have a little grace for those who can’t do exactly as you want them to do. We wore the shield that’s the best we could do . Fortunately, every other store that we went to made up for the madness that we experienced here, hence the one star . I very much intend on letting Duluth know of our experience as well but I think the public needs to know too. We were shamed and humiliated because we have a condition that prevents us from masking AND because we thought that when we purchased a cup of coffee that we would be free to consume it. If you get the chance go to the store next door, they were helpful, kind and...
Read moreI stopped in at 1 p.m. on a Friday. I haven't been in a clothing store for at least 5 yrs. I'm an online shopper. I've always been happy with their clothing. I was having lunch with a friend in Port so I decided to stop. I've recently lost a lot of weight (over 50lbs) I need a lot of new clothing. I was ready to purchase a LOT. When I entered there was a female employee folding clothing near the entrance. There was a couple leaving & I was the only customer in the store. I asked to set my leftover lunch on a counter so I could shop. Other than saying yes, the male employee said nothing else. I spent at least 10 min looking around. No one ever greeted me or offered help. I need to try things on because I'm not sure of my current size. I was hoping when an employee saw my arms full of clothing they would offer help. That never happened. I took 2 shirts up to check out. I let the employee know I was hoping to make a larger purchase, explained I really needed to try items on. He said, oh. Checked m out & after handing me my receipt said, he could help me now!! Seriously?? A hello, a smile some sort of acknowledgement should be given to EVERYONE walking in. Back to online ordering from me, it won't be Deluth Trading either. I was ready to buy a complete new...
Read moreMy family used to really like this place. Its in a convenient spot and Duluth is a cool brand, although expensive. But the customer service received today was unacceptable. Upon entering the store, my family had a bag containing one t-shirt to return for a smaller size. It was a Father's Day gift. The man that greeted us said he would help us, but needed proof of purchase. We said, It was a gift but it still has the tags on it and it's in a Duluth bag. The man said, "Well, people steal. You need proof of purchase." He said we needed a receipt or hope we were in the system. Well we didnt have a receipt because it was a gift of course. He said he couldnt return it because it could be stolen. My mother was appalled that he suggested that it was stolen. What retail employee accuses a customer of stealing something unless they show a receipt? We said never mind, we just wont come back. We tried to leave but the employee kept yelling at us saying that he never said antthing about stealing, but i think he didnt realize what he said and how rude it was. Many people around us had their jaws dropped before my mother said never mind. It was ridiculous. He was around 50 years old with glasses, a gut, and dark and gray hair with a...
