I agree with my fellow Google reviewer that it is more of a city 🏙️ square. The statue, named "Maine Lobsterman", was made in 1939 by Victor Kahill for the New York World's Fair. According to the city's website, Lobsterman Park is composed of .2 acres of cobblestones with trees for shade and benches for sitting. It was a pleasant find while exploring downtown Portland. It is a good dedication to an important part of Maine's commerce and industry. Do not be surprised to see a few homeless people there on...

A nice little square in the center of the city. Fun fact, there is an identical twin to this memorial in Washington DC, located in the Disctrict Wharf on Market Pier. It was preserved to remain there by Maine Senator...
