We sampled the Cinnamon Sugar, Maple Maine, Bam Bam, and Lemon Zinger donuts, and each one was a masterpiece. The Cinnamon Sugar was perfectly balanced—simple, yet irresistibly satisfying. Maple Maine delivered the ideal mix of sweet and savory, with just the right amount of rich maple flavor paired with crispy bacon. Bam Bam, topped with Fruity Pebbles, was a playful burst of nostalgia with its vibrant, sweet crunch. The Lemon Zinger, with its burst of fruity brightness, was a standout, featuring a delightful raspberry compote center that added a tangy-sweet surprise.
What truly set these donuts apart was their impressive texture. Unlike dense, heavy donuts, these were light as air—almost reminiscent of a pâte à choux dough, delicately fried to perfection. Each bite practically melted in your mouth, allowing you to savor the intricate and delightful flavors fully.
To complement the donuts, their coffee was equally impressive—rich, smooth, and perfectly brewed to enhance the flavors of the donuts.
Without a doubt, these are the best donuts I’ve ever had. Their small, bite-sized portions allow you to explore and appreciate each unique flavor without feeling overwhelmed. If you’re in Portland, Eighty 8 Donuts is a...
Read moreWe went here on vacation through a friend’s recommendation. Let me just say, it did not disappoint! Small warm donuts are the bees knees! Who knew?! Perfect for sharing and sampling! We ordered the 6 flavors and the lemon flair was our families favorite. They ALL were amazing through and it shows why they have won so many awards! Ok, so not only are the donuts amazing but the owners were a joy to chat with too and made the memory even better! It just so happened that as we walked in the owners did too. Their excitement around their business was contagious. And made us all beam, hearing them discuss their journey. They also gave us excellent tourist recommendations. A win win. Finally, the atmosphere is so perfect for a family! You can stand outside and watch the donuts be made through the huge glass windows. My girls loved it and us adults too. The inside is so bright and inviting, and CLEAN! I honestly think I could have eaten the donuts on the floor it was so clean! We found the interior so cute we took a bunch of pics to remember it. We ate our donuts on the charming outside patio tables and soaked in the charm of the city. It was a great morning and we highly recommend it to locals and those checking out the area. The hospitality itself will put you in...

one of the popular donut offerings in Portland, Maine, this serves « made to order » donuts. They sell mini, bite sized donuts with various creative flavors.
While the donuts were warm and fresh and generally a solid offering, I would like to point out that it is a pretty dissatisfying and disappointing that they force you to buy a minimum of 1/2 dozen donuts and they only allow you to pick one flavour per 1/2 dozen. one of the original selling points of coming here was that we thought we could sample different flavors without overeating given the bite size servings.
The rationale that I was given for not being able to accommodate multiple flavor selections in the 1/2 dozen was that these are « made to order ». well, if these were so labour intensive they wouldn’t have been able to come out with the donuts in less than 2 min of ordering. what this seems to me is a business philosophy focused on driving profit margins without catering to their customers.
secondly, my wife had to take our daughter to the washroom and their was no toilet paper in one and the other one was so dirty that our daughter...
