Ma. Native Mike the captain of the The DUKW is a six-wheel-drive amphibious modification of the 2+1⁄2-ton CCKW trucks used by the U.S. military during World War II and the Korean War. According Wikipedia
Excellent and smart man and I believe a Red Sox fan to boot , did a super job and the sees were pretty rough. He not once had anyone panicked and the not one , was worried.
Then we had the announcer of the boat . Aka Tony Quack stole the show. A New Yorker from the Bronx who I believe is a Yankee’s fan . So I’m going to praise this guy who I believe Was the guy who made my girl friend and I first ever duck tour the best ever . He was dressed up in 1800 garb . No lie and he shared the same passion and appreciation for history .
He knows his history of Portland and I would want him to run my company if I had a business. He alone Is worth the price of admission. I think his wife made him move back to Portland to raise their four kids . Which I believe is the 3rd safest place to raise a kid in the States . Portland has so much to offer and he explained all the Brick structures and why there all brick . Phoenix was the original name or something to do with it . They had four huge fires I believe and hundreds of houses were lost . I will be back and I will tour the Victoria Mansion as Bronx man said it’s a must see . All the Islands. Trust me #smitty01945 tells the truth. I hope the Bronx guy is part owner because I would buy a dock boat and have him run the company. That’s how much I think of the tour. If you don’t believe prove me wrong. Captain Mike had up deep in the ocean and we saw the million dollar bridge all the forts and etc. sign up today and thank me latter . Best...
Read moreThe Maine Duck Tours is unquestionably a fabulous attraction and a must visit guided tour when visiting Portland, Maine.
What makes the Main Duck Tours a unique and thrilling attraction is that it consists of “Two Tours” rolled into “One.”
The guided tour takes place completely on an amphibious vehicle and the guests are involved in two tours; a land based tour which explores many of Portland’s popular sites on land, and a sea based tour where guests travel on the Casco Bay and view the beautiful beachfront, impressive cruise vessels, and historic lighthouses.
During our vacation in May Of 2022, I brought and treated myself and my wife for a ride on the Maine Duck Tours and we had an absolute blast!!!
Our tour guide, Mr. Duck was highly interactive and entertaining, and did a great job on explaining the rich history and stellar features of Portland, Maine.
For our land tour, we loved that our guide had pinpointed and discussed many of Portland’s well known places of interests, such as the Portland Observatory, the breathtaking Casco Bay, the Eastern Promenade, the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad and many other destinations!!!
What my wife and I loved about the sea tour were the views of the lighthouse, the cool breeze we felt when traveling on Casco Bay and our views of the scenic shoreline of Portland, Maine.
We’d like to thank the Maine Duck Tours for their amazing guided land and tour experience, for showcasing the beauty and highlights of Portland, Maine and for bringing joy and fun to our...
Read moreDon't waste time with this tour, I bought tickets online the day before. and on the day of the tour in the morning I had already go to Portland and it took 2 hours from my home, when I arrived in Portland I got an email that the tickets for the water tour had been canceled and there was only a land tour, because I had come a long way and than I says OK, I just accepted the land tour but an hour later I got a call that my tour had been postponed to 2.30pm when my tour was supposed to be at 11.00am and finally I decided to just cancel. because I don't want to wait until the afternoon and suddenly it gets cancelled again. I am very disappointed. For people traveling from far away, I don't recommend this tour because they can cancel on the day the tour. I went to the place to see if their tour was running and sure enough there was a tour that day, but my reservation was just postponed, which was a...
