Went to see the movie Glass. No comment on that. Lol. But I was horrified to see this large empty parking lot. Apparently they shut it down because people from the max just across the street would use it. So they cut off their nose to despite their face and shut The entire parking lot down. The place looked clean, sterile. And other than The long line to get popcorn, I was fairly surprised how fast it went... everything seem to move smoothly. Next I find my seat. And as always I shut my phone off. Then some Gestapo guy, patrolling the aisles sees The light of my phone, and Rush is over and points his finger at me. I thought I was going to be thrown out. My friend next to me said you’re lucky they usually throw people out. Oh the thoughtful irony. I looked around and there were two more watchmen pacing up and down the isles. When the movie started they found their positions And were ready to pounce. I felt Slightly intimidated. And wouldn’t you know, my phone starts going off. I guess I Didn’t turn my new iPhone off All the way. I hugged my phone like a holocaust mother holding her child’s mouth, And ran for the exit before they could notice. Luckily I was able to make the hall way Before they figured out who’s phone was going off. Found the hallway and made sure this time it was off. I think I understand now the high tension and stress that breaks out in these movie theaters. People go there to Relax and wind down. Not to be Put on watch. It just seems a little extreme. Much like the parking lot. I remember the last time I went here. 20 years ago. I had a great time. When somebody’s phone would go off, they didn’t answer it they just turned it off. Most people were pretty respectful. If they weren’t they got shushed. And there was never a patrol inside the theater. Well, that’s how I felt at the Lloyd regal Cinema in Portland Oregon. Maybe I’ll have a better experience next time if I...
Read moreI AM DISGUSTED. I would give zero stars if I could.
My family and I just went to see Rogue One at this theatre (great movie) and were having a great time.... Until we discovered that there were no easily accessible handicapped bathrooms. It was very late at night and thus there were very few employees around, but we did manage to flag down a girl who was behind the counter at the concessions bar. We asked her if there were any handicap accessible bathrooms available and she said (very quietly, like she was ashamed to tell us) that the theatre keeps the one bathroom under "lock and key." We looked around a bit while we waited for her to finish up with her customer, then she led us to a closet. A dark room filled with excess lane dividers, signs, and glasses deposits, which she had to move out of the way. This closet held the "handicapped accessible" bathroom. I would've put bathroom in quotes, but I thought it a little unfair because they had at least had the decency to include a toilet in the room. I could barely fit my manual wheelchair (ya know, the kind your grandma uses) in the bathroom. My mom had to discuss with her how sickened she and I were, and we both could tell that the girl (who turned out to be the manager) was so ashamed at her workplace environment. We left the facility trembling with anger and fuming with disgrace. Never in my life or my mother's life have we been left with such utter shock. Never in my life or my mother's life have we been treated with such disrespect and lack of care.
I hope you at Regal Cinemas take this to heart. And I hope to never step foot in your cinema again because of how poorly you regard handicapped people. And please feel free to reach out to me if you want to discuss this topic further. I am at waaehh on gmail. I would love to have a more personal discussion with Regal Cinemas. Thank you...
Read moreTLDR; BED BUG infestation!
Went to the Lloyd Center Theater back in December to watch Godzilla Minus One (10/10 movie). The main takeaway of this review is the bedbug infestation currently plaguing at least one of the auditoriums.
From start to finish, it was an uncomfortable experience. Not too long after the movie began, I started to feel really itchy. At the time, I didn’t think anything of it and assumed it was just a me issue. Flash forward to finishing the movie and driving straight back to my apartment, I got about three steps inside when I saw a bug on my jacket. It didn't look like an every day insect, so I transferred it into a glass jar to get a closer look. After some googling, I concluded it was a bed bug.
After doing some damage control to bag up anything that I had come in contact with after getting home, I took to the Lloyd Center Theater Google reviews to see if anyone else had a similar experience. Sure enough, I found a review from ~5 months prior from some people who experienced the same itchiness and had noticeable bed bug bites in the days following their movie. This means there has been an ongoing bed bug infestation for potentially 10 months at the time of this review. I followed up with the theater the next morning to alert them of the issue, and a very kind employee answered and was very apologetic. However, as far as I know, management has not taken any legitimate actions to solve this.
I waited until now to post this publicly so I could be 100% sure that the bed bug did not originate from my own apartment. After a few months of careful monitoring, I haven’t found any trace of bed bugs, and I can conclude that the bug I found originated from this theater.
Moviegoers beware: if the only thing you want to bring home from the movies is a Dune II popcorn bucket, then I strongly suggest skipping the...
