Manager allowed employee to disrespect and yell at customers in front of all the store and other customers and refuse to stop the employee from doing it even though you are trying to let them now the employee came across you felt was rude and disrespectful by the end you left in tears because of the problem and upper management did not do there job by not stopping the employee from there behavior or letting me talk the other employees that cared looked shocked by what the management allowed but i feel did not say anything because they didn't want in trouble we buy alot of oil over 1,000.00 pellets over 700.00, we buy animal food there and we sell our baby rabbits to you the lady in charge of the rabbits is awesome very respectful and nice. So that is the only good thing right now in this store that is going right? This is a third time we have been treated badly but the other times I was not put into tears before I left the store. The store needs seriously dealt with reprimanded and I want a verbal apology from Jerry and Pat for the disrespect they did in front of the entire store. Yes, we were in front of the store by the registers. When Jerry was so disrespectful, when I was trying to tell the manager Pat how he approached the situation and how it came out and how he made me feel. And how it was approached and how it sounded. But Jerry would not let me talk to the manager. He told me I was not allowed to talk to him when it had to do with him, I asked him to please walk away. I am trying to talk to the manager and that is my right as a customer if i felt like i was mistreated, Jerry said no I don't have to. I said I'm allowed to talk to a manager and tell them how the associate made feel. And how it came across that is not proper customer service. And that's not the way an employee should have treated a customer not to mention.a vendor for runnings Considering I sell rabbits to the runnings...
Read moreI went to Runnings for their Black Friday sale. Ten dollar gift card for every 50 spent is a good promotion. I was 13th in line when the store opened. I found a good deal on a chain saw and bought it… I was attempting to buy a dewalt stackable toolbox in the center of the main aisle. No signage on the display. The picture on the toolbox showed 3 units together. The salesperson yelled at me in explaining that the units were individually priced… even though there were not price tags on many of the units… I asked for a manager… the salesperson said he’d get one but he did not… so I went and found the store manager. I explained how the pricing was confusing… that the prices that were marked were both missing on most of the items and that the prices that were shown were inaccurate. No apology was given. No ownership of the mistake was given. No attempt at customer satisfaction was made.
I wandered around the store for another half hour upset… I ended up leaving spending under 20% of what I intended to spend. I now have 5 gift cards to a store I don’t feel comfortable shopping in. We have a cabelas, Menards, farm fleet, scheels, and Lowe’s in this town. I went to those stores purchasing what I needed at also good prices… but with much better customer service. The runnings of Rapid City I grew up with is NOT the runnings of today… I will not be back. 2 stars given for the nice ladies up front at the cashier stand… and a good promotion, but otherwise this store is a...
Read moreANOTHER Anti Second Amendment chain. I am a dual resident , Colo and SD. I placed a high end rifle on layaway at the Rapid City store. I went to pick up the rifle and there was some confusion how to proceed since my ID was a CO DL. After 10 minutes I was told (the counter guy contacting corporate) Running's only sells long guns to So Dakota residences. Even though SD and Federal law allow such sales- believe me I checked ! The poor guy at the counter was as disappointed as I was and continued to apologize. Apparently according to the Corp. Compliance officer (Dave Kendell ) policy of Runnings supersedes your 2nd Amendment rights.. No BS here you can decide for yourself. Update- Oct 2018. upgraded my rating due to wood pellet prices, lowest in town now..
Update 2021. I started to shop here again because they seem to have things in stock that other stores don't have. Prices are decent. Still do not agree with their gun sales policy but I don't buy from them anymore as far as Firearms go.
Update fall 2024. If you are in hurry around 9-930 am don't stop at runnings. Lots of workers in the store but one check stand open, I counted eight from the checkout line I was in. Also I've noticed the last several times I've been in the store it's been extremely cluttered I would call it dirty. Stock boxes sitting around in carts blocking Isles. Half finished stocking jobs. Also low inventory. The People who work there are friendly and courteous to...
