The primary advantage of these apartments is the location; the complex is close to most all conveniences, most within 5 minutes. Second advantage is that the apartments are fairly new, no mold like you have in a lot of complexes.
Now for the disadvantages: 1) The square footage is an illusion for the gullible tenants out there. Since the apartments have such high ceilings, that is where a lot of the square footage is computed; It is not actual living space for a tenant since nothing can be done with this empty space. So then that means this extra space in the ceiling area will take away from the remaining livable square footage. To give a good example, the eating area in a 744 sq. ft. apartment is a space 6' x 8', not spacious by any stretch of the imagination. Then the living area is 12' x 12', very, very small area, room for one desk and one small sofa, and that is it. It is okay if someone likes to live in cramped spaces, but if you like a spacious environment, this apartment won't cut it.
These apartments are designed like boxes, because it was the intention of the builder to maximize rental income with a high stated square footage, knowing that a good portion of that square footage would not be livable space. It costs a developer less money in the long run to build a square box rather than an apartment that is spread out, since the cost of land in the North Texas area is quite expensive, and building up instead of out solves the issue of "stated square footage", while at the same time making the cost of this square footage a fraction of what it would be if the apartment had been build with normal ceiling heights.
Next, halls are full of crickets, hundreds of them. It would not take much of an effort to get rid of these pesky insects, but no one has done anything.
One of the most offensive things about living here is the fact that some person in all their wisdom decided to place a garbage bin in the parking garage. The odor emanating from this bin is very very offensive, and any tenant parking in the garage will need to smell this each and every time a car is retrieved from the garage. I have never in my life seen any apartment complex put a garbage bin inside a parking garage; it is a first for me and I hope a last.
Parking here is an impossibility; there are no designated parking spots for tenants like most complexes have. It is a constant battle to find a space close to your own apartment.
There is no cell phone service inside my particular apartment, and of course, the leasing office made no mention of this when they were speaking highly of all the amenities of the apartments. A WiFi connection has to be used to use your cell phone and it is a pain to set up; since your cell phone is not working due to the brick construction of the complex, then trying to get WiFi set up is a very time consuming process. It is necessary to get away from your apartment, go to an open area, maybe one or two blocks away, to call your ISP to set up a WiFI connection for you mobile phone. Never in my life have I had to go to such extremes to simply be able to use my cell phone in my apartment.
Also not mentioned was all the construction going on. There are big trucks, tractors, constantly moving around, along with all other kinds of noises. At the same time, anyone deciding to park next to their apartment that happens to be close to an area under construction, risks their car being damaged by passing equipment or from falling debris from the workers on the higher floors. I suffered a broken windshield, costing me $300 to replace, after being here only one month. I knew it was only a matter of time before something like this would happen, since there was so much going on in the area where my apartment is located.
So if anyone is planning to live here, it is best to thoroughly check out the environment, check with neighbors surrounding your proposed new residence, and be resigned to paying high dollar for square footage that is not livable square footage. Let the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have lived here for over in a year and a half, when I first moved in I had several problems within the first couple of weeks. The first night I moved in there was no hot water connected to my unit. The door handles have fallen off of the laundry room doors because they were built too fast and too cheap. The water pressure is horrible, several times there was barely enough pressure to get the soap out of my hair. The rent went up $100 already in the past year and I just received an email about renewing my lease where they are trying to get me to sign now because it is going up another $100 when my lease is up in February. When I first moved in my building and one other were the only two open. There has been a tremendous amount of crime take place here in the past six months!! So much that they have had to hire a security office to walk the property all night long but he doesn't actually act, he will only call 911 if something happens. There has been doors kicked in, several vehicles broken into, garage doors broken into and robbed and the pool house cabana has been broken into as well and the tv's were taken off of the wall. I pay nearly $1300 a month for a one bedroom, you would think you wouldn't have to worry about that type of stuff paying that amount. I will say that I have always got a pretty quick response from the office staff and maintenance with most issues and they are friendly for the most part. Ginger is the assistant manager and is always extra friendly and helpful but she doesn't have the authority to make major decisions. I am put out with this property, I have spent close to $30,000 in rent since I have been here and I have had a new neighbor move in above me in the past four months or so. It sounds like they are weight training above my living room all hours of the day and late at night. I was nice at first and went and knocked on the mans door and he apologized and gave me his number to text him if it was too loud. Keep in mind I had lived here for over a year at the time and never had one single noise issues. The noise continued, so bad that I could hear it over my blaring television. I called management, emailed them and they suggested I call the night time "courtesy officer". I called her a few times and left a message when I was hearing noise late late at night and never even received a call back. Finally, I was assured the resident was moving to a different unit Mid month October and there would be no other issues. I was assured this by the property manager Teresa on a couple different occasions. I went out of town for a job for a month and when I recently returned the noise continued. I was then informed by Teresa that he couldn't move because his employer wouldn't allow him to change his apartment number on his address?? I was told pretty much it was his word against mine even though she had admitted the issue and even said to me she knew he was guilty of it or he wouldn't have agreed to move units but then she basically tells me I can call the new night security guard and let him come hear it as she tells me how much of a hassle it is to evict someone which assures me she isn't concerned about the major inconvenience and disturbance this resident causes to me. One one think after living here so long and spending so much money management would keep their word and have him move to a different unit or take further actions! I would not recommend moving here. Just drive through the parking lot, you will find calls that have no windows in them using...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUPDATE: I sent an email with the photos of the bugs to the mgmt office, instead of thanking me for bringing this to their attention, I was met with excuses about nature, then they cancelled the standing appointment I had for pest control. Pls make this make sense. And as predicted the form letter response. #1 thing to know if you move in here, there will be a show of care, then nothing changes. And if an improvement can be made which requires more āworkā from the residence instead of the staff, that is the option that will be chosen. Zero. Absolutely zero respect for the residentsā time and energy. I HAVE A JOB. I donāt want to āworkā at living at an apartment! At this point I feel like I should be receiving a stipend for the time theyāve taken from me.
The apartment is ok. The mgmt staff is personable, but powerless to actually do things. The fact that I was told in 2025 that they cannot find out when pest control arrives weekly is wild. Even the internet people give you a 4-5 hour window of time for arrival and call ahead when to let you know when they will arrive. The mgmt office had no understanding that this reality doesnāt negate their responsibility; it only further confirms the absolute lack of standards at the āStandard at Cityline.āSo my question isā¦what kind of bargain, basement, low-no quality pest control service is on retainer here that this is the way it is?
There is no oversight for the pool. I saw 2 toddlers who have yet to be potty trained in the pool without swimming diapers⦠absolutely disgusting and unsanitary. There is no maintenance on the weekendsā¦. This place is like a person whoās good looking when you see them in a place with great lighting, and then when you see them in normal lighting are š±š³š¤¦š»āāļøā¦ itās clear that they donāt want to spend money on things like dishwashers, washing machines or stoves that were made in the last 20 years. Mind you the place was built in the last 20 years, so the builders decided to source ancient appliances, and the mgmt company didnāt do a thing about it. š³š¤Æš³š¤Æ
Oh, and donāt let the responses to bad reviews fool you. They didnāt care or try to remedy the issue until the bad review was posted. And I would imagine the response is more about creating the plausibility of the mgmt office caring, in hopes that future tenants will āgive the benefit of the doubtā (perhaps this is just an unhappy person whoās leaving these reviewsā¦? I assure you that Iām a happy, hardworking person that just wants people to do their job) rather than actually resolving the issue. If issues were actually addressed and resolved, there would be many updates to negative reviews or less of them.
I wouldnāt recommend anyone to live here. Itās good from afar; and far from good. One of the things Iām sure of, is that they do not pay or value the staff that does things around the building. My building outer door knob was about to fall off and the mgmt did nothing about it for weeks. Likely bc the folks who walk the grounds taking care of various things arenāt paid well enough to care and report such issues. I finally asked one of the grounds folks to tell the mgmt...
