I've recently had a bad experience with PC Laptops and wanted to share.
About four years ago my dad bought me a PC Laptop for my high school graduation present. He was worried about me having issues with the laptop while I was in Logan at school away from any PC Laptop locations. The salesperson assured him I could have remote services on my computer, so living far away wouldn't be an issue. The remote service option is what made my dad decide to choose their laptop over other ones.
I've had some issues with my laptop over the past four years, but have always been close enough to a store to bring it in (a whole other issue--I brought it in for them to fix one thing only to have them break something else on it. Whatever.).
Well, now I live in Arizona with no PC Laptop locations near by. My laptop has been having issues (again!). So, I called them and told them my predicament of living so far away with a malfunctioning laptop. They tell me to mail it in--not in the budget, so that's not happening. I politely tell them about what they told my dad four years ago--remote service should be an option. Well, he looks up my computer (which is under some random persons address instead of my dad's??) and tells me at first that the remote service was not included with my laptop (then why did the salesperson say I could have it?? and charge my dad extra for that feature??). Then he tells me that their license was revoked so he can't legally do remote service to help me. So, they were unable to follow through on something they told my dad they could do (after he changed his story about why he wouldn't do it!). Then he offers to transfer me to their at home service, but I had called them already and they couldn't help (about all they did was tell me to hold my power button for 10 seconds... So helpful đ).
I'm not really the type of person to write bad reviews and complain, but PC Laptops has been nothing but a headache every time I have to deal with them. Their customer service is lacking and they can't follow through on their promises. Save yourself the headache and find somewhere else to buy your laptops and desktops. They've lost at least my dad and I as customers (unfortunate for them since my dad used to be a very good customer of theirs).
And an update since posting this to my Facebook--my cousin figured out my problem and helped me solve it even though he also lives in Utah while I'm in Arizona. And yet PC Laptops...
Read moreThese people are AWESOME! My seven year old laptop decided to die, and like an idiot I did not have anything backed up! Seven years worth of my life, business stuff, irreplaceable pictures, budget and retirement spread sheets, password documents, Etc, Etc. All lost! Being somewhat computer savvy I pulled the hard drive out of my dead laptop and tried to recover it on several other computers, but no luck. Horrible sick feeling in my gut thinking all this data is lost forever! My brother-in-law who is an IT guy even tried to recover it with no luck, he then recommended PC laptops on Riverdale road. Dan Fox and his team treated me like I was the most important person in the world, they took my hard drive and began an arduous recovery process. Kevin Johnson an expert tech at PC laptops basically had to babysit my seriously corrupted hard drive for 5 days straight in order to recover the data from it. In the meantime Dan hooked me up with a new laptop that is total amazing! 1000 times faster than my old one, automatically backs up everything for me, warranted forever, has the very best antivirus and anti spy ware software on it. Expert technician Kevin Johnson was able to recover 90% of my data, which was more than I could have ever expected, and the cost for the recovery was $0.00 YES! You heard me right they charged me $0.00 dollars for the data recovery. I called several data recover companies across the nation and the average cost to recover data from a dead hard drive is $1000.00 or more! PC laptops on Riverdale road did it for free! I did buy the biggest, bad ass, 17.5â screen laptop they offer, and it is worth every penny I paid for it, and the service I received from every person I interacted with at this store was exceptional! Customer service at this level is very hard to find these days. I will never buy a computer from anyone else; these guys have made a customer for life. I highly recommend you buy your next computer...
Read moreI was having issues with a computer I built and I brought it into these guys for one of their free check-ups. During my initial visit, they did various tests and spent a good amount of time trying to diagnose what was wrong. While they couldn't say for sure, they guessed that my motherboard was the issue. As such, I sent my motherboard in for RMA and got a replacement. When I tried rebuilding my PC by myself, I couldn't get my computer to work and I was pretty devastated. I brought my PC back into this shop and they did a PHENOMENAL job figuring out what was wrong. They figured out that I had re-installed a part wrong after literally taking apart nearly every part of my computer.
Cody did a great job taking the time to help me figure out what was wrong. He went well above and beyond what I ever thought they would do. As a free examination, I was simply expecting a couple of tests to diagnose what was wrong. But boy was I in store for a great experience. Cody, like I said, took apart nearly every part of my computer to figure out what was wrong. He figured out what was wrong and thoroughly tested his fix to ensure it was working. I was extremely impressed by his drive to figure out the issue and fix it. And it wasn't just the fact that he fixed the issue. Other shops could have fixed it and maybe even I could have fixed it over time. But not only did Cody get it done quickly, he has such a good attitude the entire time. He made it seem like I was the absolute top priority at the time, he cared about me and my computer, and was a very friendly person. I was amazed with my experience there and it was truly one of the best customer service experiences I've ever had. PC Laptops has more than earned my future experience and I will recommend them to...
