A gem in Downtown Sacramento. This church is very progressive for a Lutheran Church, and they are welcoming to any and all. The inside of the building is beautiful with intricate stained glass windows and nice aesthetic throughout. There is a small parking lot on the property for handicapped attendees, and a larger parking lot open on Sunday mornings for others (for free!). The pastoral staff is great and stays after service to personally greet all in attendance. 3 services are available on Sunday morning at 8:00 AM (simple prayer service with limited music), 9:00 AM (traditional service with organ and piano), and 11:30 (contemporary service with piano and guitars). Although the reason was a sad time for me, I noticed that the church staff was considerate for the grieving family and friends. Reverend Frank Espegren led the mass with caring and kindness, and another gentleman led the congregation in song.
