Green Light Cinema — Local services in Saint Petersburg

Green Light Cinema is an absolutely delightful venue for independent films. St. Petersburg desperately needed a place like this, and now it's here. Their single screening room is intimate (with consideration for social distancing guidelines) and comfortable. The projector is bright, sharp as a tack, and offers great contrast. The speakers are thoughtfully placed, audio can be heard clearly without any interference or reflections. There truly isn't a bad seat in the house. Their scaled-down concessions menu is refreshing in a world where you can order just about anything you find on Applebee's menu at your local Studio Movie Grill or AMC. Sadly. I had to revise this review. The owner Mike became verbally abusive to me because I disagreed with him on covid. My friend and I constantly promoted his place and attendance definitely increased. But now we have the sad duty of letting them know what they are supporting; a social justice. Virtue signaling leftist who will attack you if he even slightly suspects you may not be on board with his agenda. I felt so sorry for his poor wife as he was screeching at me and my guest. Heck. If he wanted a mask mandate, I would comply but he doesn't. I survived covid without incident and now have total, real immunity. He disagrees with it and wants everyone to get the jab. We will never be back. I can't wait until the St. Pete Beach...

Let me start this off by just saying how phenomenal this theater was. I actually drove almost two hours here to see Emilia Perez in theaters (crazy I know but I just had to see it on the big screen) and I will say it was totally worth it. From the moment I walked in the owner (who I later read to be Mike) was extremely welcoming and helpful.

This theater not only seems to get some of the most exclusive & top notch films that you could only seem to find at a film festival like Cannes but they also have the most top notch staff and management that is very rare to come across at any indie theater or film festival.
