This nail salon was vastly different from any other nail salon experience I’ve ever had. I spend the day researching the best nail salon in Utah hoping to get may nails done and ready to go for engagement pictures. This salon was one of the higher rated salons in the area and they had availability. Soon arrival I was discouraged to see all the unhoused individuals camped out around the complex, but I know that Isn’t the businesses fault. Stepping into the salon I was greeted, asked to wash my hands and then directed to the wall of nail colors. Lindsey, the nail tech I booked with, conversed with a co-worker and another costumer while I struggled to find colors to match my reference pic.
The experience was interesting because the culture of the shop was unexpected. I am so use to very respectful shops I was shocked by the language and “idgaf” vibes of this shop. Now that isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it was refreshing to be able to just talk and not feel as though you’re offending anyone, however it did make me question the professionalism.
Lindsey assured me that the gel-x nails I was receiving would last around the same length as acrylics do and I assured her I would be being very careful with them regardless as I did not want to mess them up prior to the pictures. I was disappointed in how Lindsey was so lack about how she filed the nails and cleaned up the underneath portion of the nails. When I asked her to file down a piece that was sticking up she put more coats of paint over it to cover it up. She also left the corners of my nails extremely sharp and I had to file them down upon returning home.
My nails were done Friday 2/19 and Saturday 2/20 I’ve already had nails chip. The only thing I’ve done today is shower, and type on my keyboard doing homework. And I’ve already experienced chipping. This is extremely frustrating especially after being assured the durability of these nails. Because of this I am now going to have to spend more money to get them fixed.
If you’re looking for a non-traditional nail salon, and are not concerned about professionalism or technique/quality then I’d say this is the place for you! But I would not recommend getting your nails done here for anything serious like engagement photos,...
Read moreI visited this nail shop, for a pedicure, for the first time after hearing raving reviews. My service started 1 hr after the appointment I booked. The nail tech was very nice but appeared inexperienced. The seating area where I was seated was not cleaned. I then told the nail tech that there was still water in the pedicure bowl. She apologized and mentioned someone must have not cleaned up after themselves and moved me to another seat. During the service I made note of telling her I didn’t want my nails cut short she proceeded to file them very short. Then the polish was applied incorrectly and was all over her hands. She had already cured the gel on one foot when she noticed the polish was incorrectly applied and left my other foot with fresh polish (uncured). She then attempted to remove the polish from the cured foot by using polish remover and scrapping with her own nails. In the middle of the service she had to change her gloves because the polish was all over them and all over my feet. I was calm as she appeared nervous and it seemed like she was new. However, about an hour of struggling she noted it was the polish causing trouble. I then suggested to change polish which she dismissed and said, “no I’ll make this work.” Then after what seemed like 30 more minutes of struggle she said you know what we might just change the polish. At this point, I had been in the nail shop for quite sometime, so I asked her to please just remove the polish and I would come back at a later date. She then told me “actually you know what, they are fine there shouldn’t be a problem.” Proceeded to end the service with the nails as they were. Since I’m not a confrontational person I just agreed to leave them. My idea was to visit another shop to have them fix it. To top it off she then proceeds to check me out as if nothing had happened. She didn’t even offer to make things right by proposing a discount or simply not charging me. Instead I was charged $75 for an extremely bad service that lasted 2 hours after my appointment time. I proceeded to pay because as I said I’m not a confrontational person but wanted to make sure this doesn’t happen to someone else (reason...
Read moreDo NOT go here! Extremely unwelcoming, unprofessional, unkind and the list goes on. My niece and I were gifted 2 manis and a pedi for Valentines Day. The first nail tech cut my nieces fingers four times without even the slightest apology! My mani was an absolute disaster. Told me the design I wanted was too difficult... ok? So you clearly can’t do your job. I was overly nice about it and completely fine with creating a fun design instead! She said she would try to get as close as possible to what I asked for. She made my nails too long and sharp and when I asked her nicely if she could trim them she just glared at me and said.. we’re way past that point. Proceeded to make my nails look like a child did them. Absolutely nothing like the idea she presented to me! I don’t handle confrontation well. At any point I tried to tell her I didn’t like them she got attitude and blew me off so I shut down and said otherwise because I felt so bad for putting her out. I quietly approached the girl at the front desk with my issue out of consideration for the other customers and the business. I didn’t think it was fair to pay full price for something I didn’t ask for or liked! My nail tech stormed passed me in raging anger out the door in front of everyone. I felt so bad and humiliated! With management involved I was still charged $150 for everything... You read that right. $150 dollars! They accused me of asking for a free service. Never once did I even mention a free service! I asked for half... Went straight to a different salon and they accommodated me beautifully! Would never recommend or come back after that hellish experience! One star is incredibly...
