Decent place until you get on your feet convenient and near everything . If you’re working or looking for work they will give you Uta bus passes , there’s after school and camp in building for kids school bus that picks kids to and from school a chef that cooks breakfast lunch and dinner and a Whole Foods giveaway of food in a 24 /7 fridge in the shared kitchen . A private hotel vibe room for u and kids , Also they have an office space where you can go into anytime & pick up brand new free clothes shoes pajamas underwear socks toiletries ,etc. they even give away new bikes for the kids ! if u can’t get through I advise you to KEEP calling until a bed becomes available this is the best place to be there’s nothing better .you will forget you’re in a shelter..with that being said upon my move out because I found my own place . They only gave me a thrift shop voucher ..typically they help u get on your feet after move out but I was told in the summer they “freeze accounts” so they can’t help ppl with anything when it’s time to move ..I was promised at minimum air beds until I get my own furniture and I am STILL awaiting for Zarmina to send me a response that I can get it . I feel like once you leave that place they really show they don’t care about you . It’s a horrible feeling . But for what it’s worth I still recommend Ywca. And I am grateful for my time there Also for child case manager I STRONGLY do NOT recommend kamie..she will spy the hell out of you and have other staff watch you . She goes above and beyond in hopes you are doing something wrong . Her energy is off putting and when she called herself giving my son a bike it had no wheels on it . I don’t know if she was testing me to upset me or what but I declined it and closed my door . And if you have any real questions or concerns she NEVER has an answer ..yet she will try to call you to have pointless meetings..her being my case manager for my kids was incredibly frustrating and...

They are DCFS hungry and will have DCFS there for your kids in a heart beat especially the advocate Megan she will call faster than lightning she also does pills and sales them there (my brother told me) and she knew i knew that so she tried to get my kids taken and also 4 other people that day got their kids taken by DCFS and didn't get them back. other than that it's a good place to stay if you're abused and they do help you get a place with assistance but if you have kids i wouldn't recommend this place. Also some of the staff are pretty rude...
Read moreI'm very disgusted with the ywca. People donate things and staff takes first pick then puts the rest of whatever is left out for the woman to take. I watched them kick out a girl with a 6 month old baby and she had no where to go. In my case my house was burned down by my abusive ex so I went there to be safe and I thought they would help me but no. They kicked me and my daughters out when they knew dam well we had no where to go. Also they did it right in the middle of a terrible snow storm. I dont think people should donate to them. They don't do anything to help or...
