I was so excited to join the Pilates classes and the coach Ann was amazing coach , she’s the best instructor I’ve ever seen and so helpful with us and try to make us do all the moves correctly. The problem start with booking classes and always there is a long waiting list so they advice us to book all the classes for the month in advance , so that’s what I did I have migraine and the attack usually comes suddenly and not giving me any notice before so because of my migraine attacks I cancel my booked class cause I can’t attend it and found that they are taking credits from me because I have to inform them 12 hours in advance to the class !!!!! I didn’t know this policy, no one told us in the beginning when they were trying to convince us to attend the classes I asked a girl in the front desk about where are my credits of classes going , she didn’t give me the right answer because she was new and didn’t know why is that happening with me And i asked her if she was new and she said yes and I told her I was here before her and it’s the first time my to loose credit of classes. Then I asked coach Ann and she explained to me why I’m loosing the credit for the classes because I’m canceling my booked class in less than 12 hours before the class started. Then the manager Mileena called me and she was so rude and talk to me as if I was a child and saying that it’s unacceptable from me to tell one of the front desk staff that I’m here before her and she’s new !!!! I was really shocked by her tone of voice and the way she was talking to me as if I was child and did a wrong thing!!! Because of her I stopped going to the club although I was telling everyone how I’m enjoying the classes with coach Ann and how I m getting so much benefit from the moves we are doing I was in the last month of my contract and still have some classes left but i was so disappointed and decided not to go anymore Then i discovered another thing the didn’t tell us about it when they were convincing us to join the classes in the beginning They do automatic renewal for our contract after the end of the three months without asking us or taking the authorization from us I was so mad I went to tell them why they charging my credit without asking me they said it is in the contract we’ve signed and it’s not there responsibility and I have to write a notice asking for cancellation 30 days before they stop charging my credit They are fooling us Be careful they don’t inform you with everything when you first go Manager Mileena is so rude and her customer service is zero and I had really bad experience with her and she really disrespected me on the phone and when I went to speak to her in person...
Read moreThere are plenty of great Pilates studios in San Diego, but unfortunately this is NOT one of them. I feel a need to warn others of the misleading business practices for which I was a victim of so others will not be fooled as I was. As other reviews have mentioned, the owners sadly do not care about existing customers. Here is a list of reasons not to waste your money at this studio:
1.) It is impossible to book a class as there are waitlists to every class at least 2 weeks in advance.
2.) There are enrollment fees, late fees, no show fees, and "early cancellation" fees. If you sign up for a membership, you are locked in for at least 3 months or they will charge you a $100 cancellation fee. Also, if you don't let them know in writing and fill out a form 30 days before cancelling, they make you pay for the next month.
3.) There are no locker rooms and one tiny bathroom.
4.) Instructors do not pay attention to your form or reformer adjustments. They also act like they are annoyed you're even there and would rather be someplace else.
5.) The location is a glass box in the middle of the mall with creepy people watching you.
Since I am currently on my second month, I am forced to continue another month (or face a $100 penalty charge), so I will continue refreshing the booking page to try to get into a class as I watch my money fade away into the hands of these money hungry con artists.
I will also be reporting them to the better business bureau and posting this review to every platform I can get my hands on.
Don't make the same mistake I did. You have...
Read moreClub Pilates La Jolla is my home away from home! I have the unlimited membership and certainly get my moneys worth as I am typically able to attend a couple times per day (but sometimes do only one since the workouts can get rigorous in 1.5 classes). The staff is all super friendly and the trainers always make sure to check in to make sure you are comfortable and always make sure to correct anything that could cause pain/injury. I have been coming here for a little over 6 months and have seen the staff making an excellent effort to get to know all new members, learn their names, and make the experience personable. They are also super encouraging and seem enthusiastic about their work which makes you excited to come! BTW even if it seems like classes book up quickly, oftentimes you get off the waitlist especially if you are 1st-3rd on...
