Visited on the evening of 01/02/2024 (1st February 2024): Pretentious staff who look down their noses at you, clearly judge you the moment you walk through the door and then spend the rest of your visit talking amongst themselves about you!. Felt like as a customer you are instantly an inconvenience to the staff who are more concerned with talking amongst themselves than creating a welcoming, warm environment. The barman is one of the most self-opinionated individuals I have ever encountered, especially when it comes to his views on sports which he spent most of his time watching on the TV's and of which his was most vocal about in front of patrons. He was also more than happy to tell other staff what he thought of customers. Quite possibly the worst Mac and Cheese I have ever tasted, luke warm and watery. Point Break ale is mediocre at best and again watery. My bil was put on the table two minutes after my food and they clearly wanted me and every other customer out as soon as possible and were talking of closing early at just gone 8pm. A disappointing experience at an establishment which from the outside looks like it has so much potential. Presumably it keeps going based on location as a tourist trap, it certainly can't be attributed to the staff, atmosphere or quality of their offerings. As a prospective customer I would suggest you spend ten minutes of your time walking on to the SD Taproom, and as an establishment I suggest the management of PB Ale House have a look at what the SD Taproom are doing, how they do it and how their staff conduct themselves, couldn't be...
Read moreWe've visited before with good service and nice beer. Our second visit was very odd. We came, used the restroom and then found a table. A few tables arrived after us and received menus and service very promptly. Nobody came to our table for a while so I asked a security man if it was table or bar service. He told us it was still table service so I asked for a menu. We then waited for a long time while all the other tables ( who arrived after us ) were waited on. A waiter then came over and said our server should be with us soon and we said we just wanted drinks. We didn't ask but he came over without us saying anything so he could clearly tell we had waited. He came back and said we could order at the bar. This is fine with us but unsure why no one told us and why every other table was being waited on. The waiter assigned to our table completed avoided us and avoided eye contact whenever we were clearly asking for something. We waited for at least 20-30 minutes for a drink and spent the rest of the time wondering what we'd done wrong, or whether it was because we are English, which Im hoping it wasn't. We aren't sure if we're reading into the behaviour but it was really odd how we were ignored and everyone around us received really attentive service. We worried we'd broken some kind of american social norm but we were nothing but nice so no clue what it could be. Really put a downer on our night as we already felt quite...

Last weekend, my family and I had the pleasure of dining at Pacific Beach AleHouse in San Diego, and it was nothing short of remarkable. After a previous disappointing dining experience at another upscale restaurant in the area, we approached AleHouse with a mix of hope and hesitation. We wanted our last meal in San Diego to be memorable for all the right reasons - and it truly was!
From the moment we sat down, the exceptional service was evident. Our waiter was the epitome of attentiveness, making us feel both welcomed and valued. The speed at which we received our drinks - within just 5 minutes of sitting down - set a fantastic tone for the evening.
Now, let's talk about the food - an absolute culinary delight! Our group of six ordered seven different entrees along with an appetizer, and each dish was a hit. The flavors were spot-on, the presentation impeccable, and the quality of the ingredients shone through in every bite. It's rare to find a place where every item on the menu is consistently excellent, but Pacific Beach AleHouse pulled it off brilliantly.
In summary, if you're in San Diego and looking for a dining experience that combines superb service with outstanding cuisine, look no further than Pacific Beach AleHouse. It's not just a meal; it's an experience that will leave you planning your next visit before you've even left your table. Highly...
