The wait time for me was very quick, however, the other woman who walked in with me waited 45 minutes after her scheduled appt time before it started.
Additionally, the place does not have a way to take cards. They claimed their credit card system was down, but had links to venmo and said that employees can only be tipped in cash. Conveniently, they had an atm right behind the counter.
During my process, Christine and another womanspoke in another language and then immediately looked at my feet and laughed. I've gotten many pedicures so I know my feet aren't terrible, but it was just a weird thing to happen all around. This happened several times throughout my experience there.
The manicure lady did use some sterile clippers to cut my cuticles but the pedi lady had some custom colored clippers and I didn’t know if it was clean or not.
The manicure lady had me my dip my fingers in some kinda water bowl, prob to soften the cuticles. After she started cutting, she was dipping the shavings in the cuticle bowl. Then at the end, she dumped the cold water from the bowl in the water where my feet were still soaking, with the cuticle shavings and everything. It was very cold on my feet that were being cleaned. Finally, she put the bowl in the sink, rinsed it with some water, and put it on top of other bowls without cleaning it.
I got some minor nicks when they cut my cuticles but it didn't cause any real bleeding.
Sooo. I feel like it was just a weird place and I...
Read more2025 Review I wanted to update my review. The owner recently responded in a positive way.
I left iNailology in late early 2022 because their business practices became questionable. Lack of integrity in prices. Quality of workmanship declined. This may have been on purpose. And the business is extremely overpriced.
I had been a consistent customer during the pandemic long before their new location.
I chose to spend my resources at a place where I was respected and not swindled.
Nails by Jenny in North Park is a concierge 1:1 experience, and this is what I prefer.
*2021 Review" Being a fashionista during Covid-19 can be tough. Alas, iNailology has come to the Queen's relief. Coupled owned salon with full services. All nail services... natural, gel, powder, acrylic, dip baby dip, etc.
Increased safety and sanitized practices... pre/post Covid. All patrons must have face coverings. We know you love pets, but all customers do not, kindly let pets rest at home. Easily located in Banker's Hill. A block across Balboa Park. Metered parking is currently free until Covid-19 release. Two customers at a time. Prices are moderate. I'm a teacher and think prices are fair. Since patrons are limited highly recommend to call for an appointment. High quality service, respectful, friendly, thorough knowledge of products and conversations are by choice. Yes, I would recommend even if you are committed to...
Read moreI want to start by saying this place is really nice, clean, great location, friendly staff, etc. This was only my second time here and I had a great experience my first time. My dip with gel stayed on for over three weeks and I had been swimming in the ocean almost every day. The design I had gotten looked great so I knew I could trust this place!
I don’t get my nails done all that often so I don’t exactly know what to ask for which is why I show a picture (shown attached). I made an appointment but didn’t specify that I would like a certain nail technician (mistake that I have now learned). What I’m more upset about is the lack of transparency. I specifically mentioned wanting a design and provided a picture. I’ll let the pic attached say all that I need it to. If the design was too advanced for the technician, I should have been told that instead of awkwardly having to tell them to not do anymore. Anyways, I would go back here but would specify the technician and would recommend asking for examples of their work if you want a great design. I don’t have time to go back so I’ll deal with the jokes from my friends until I can get them removed.
P.S. some of their nail techs do dip your fingers in the dip powder container which I’ve heard is a huge no-no. The gal who did my nails the first time did not though so just make sure you ask if this is something you are...
