I booked this headspa experience a couple weeks ago after reviewing yelp and felt confident about this location- so many head spas are popping up but doing lazy work, I wanted a good experience.
It was a surprise for my husband’s birthday- which I relayed to them the day before my appointment when they called to confirm.
They confirmed with me several times in the days and weeks leading up to this to ensure that both I and my husband were coming and also adjusted the time of our appointment with one of these follow ups.
And then….
An hour and a half before my appointment the day of they called my phone asking for my husband (who it was supposed to be a surprise for as I had communicated with them the day prior) on speaker phone in the car mind you, and said both their technicians had called out sick. Suprise=thoroughly ruined. They could tell I was upset and asked to reschedule to Sunday which I declined.
Someone else called back a little while later saying they found someone to cover thus asking if I’d still like to come but I was already livid and over it. They didn’t even offer a discount or gift card to make up for the inconvenience.
Insanely unprofessional. Bad communication within the company all around.
I’m a busy, seasoned, high-end hairstylist and had told all my clients about this for weeks and could have recommended them for a ton more business. The opposite will be happening now. I give a damn good shampoo, it would have been nice to recieve one for once. I even took out my extensions for this.
But more importantly, because of that, I appreciate the value of integrity in your work and in giving ample notice to a client if someone is sick and needs to reschedule. An hour and a half for 2 employees? Really? They actually said 3 employees called out when I questioned this. This leads me to believe the services wouldn’t have even been worth it.
Rant over, didn’t even make it there but don’t...
Read moreI hesitated to write this review, but after sleeping on it and then looking at other reviews, I felt that I should. My experience at Rind was fairly disappointing for the amount the service costs. The woman at the front was extremely nice and attentive (Ariel) but I felt that the rest of my time was somewhat awkward and uncomfortable. The employee performing the "I Am Refreshed" scalp ritual on me seemed like she wanted to be anywhere else but working with me. She barely spoke to me unless I asked questions or engaged her in conversation. She didn't tell me what she was putting on my hair or even generally what we'd be doing. The massage was extremely light even though I said I liked medium pressure in my questionnaire responses. She didn't recommend any specific products to me even though I said I would be open to that (I had to ask what she put in my hair). I understand that not every practitioner wants to talk while they work and other people are just shy, but it was odd at times how quiet it was. At one point, she even pulled all of my hair purposely very hard; it didn't hurt, but it was surprising. A little heads up would have been nice. I still paid a 20% tip, because I do think that's the right thing to do in a tough economy like this, but my total service came out roughly to $190 and I left feeling sort of unsure of what I really received besides a vigorous hair washing...Perhaps I wouldn't have felt that way if I'd been walked through what was happening. After reading the other reviews that are glowing, I wonder if it was something about me that made this such an unlikable experience? I don't know. I just know I was really looking forward to coming here, but I don't think I'll come back. I'll just ask my hair stylist for an extra 10 minutes of...
Read moreThoroughly enjoyed my experience at Rind Skin & Head Spa!
I booked the 'New Guest JetPeel Hair/Scalp Restoration with Trichologist' as it was my first visit to a head spa and had no idea what condition my scalp was in. I had been experiencing new significant hair loss and wanted to get to the bottom of it. Leeanne was full of knowledge and deeply cares about hair health. She first went through my questionnaire, explained what we were going to be doing in detail, and answered any questions I had. We took a closer look at my scalp and identified what was healthy and what could use some improvement. We then got started with the treatments, which was my favorite part! All the products used on my scalp felt so refreshing. The JetPeel treatment was quite an interesting sensation! Be prepared to feel a bit of a chill on your head, but it was so worth it because my scalp looked and felt so clean afterwards.
The entire experience felt very educational but also relaxing at the same time. They've really thought about the little details to make sessions feel unique and personal (ex. cute sign with your name on it, warming eye mask, etc.).
I am so happy I started with this type of session because I learned a great deal about my hair health and know now that my scalp is much healthier than I originally thought. Instead of wasting time and money on random products and procedures, I can focus my energy on what my specific scalp and hair needs are. Will definitely be back to try other services they offer....
