Dear 24-hour fitness management,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my deep concern and disappointment regarding the cleanliness and hygiene conditions at your gym facility. As a dedicated member who values maintaining a healthy lifestyle, I believe it is crucial to provide feedback when the standard of cleanliness falls far below expectations.
During my recent visits to the gym, I have noticed several persistent issues that need urgent attention. Firstly, the overall cleanliness of the gym premises leaves much to be desired. The floors often appear dirty and dusty, with visible accumulations of debris and dirt in various corners. This not only creates an unappealing environment but also poses a potential health hazard.
Moreover, the gym equipment itself seems to be in a state of neglect. Weightlifting benches and machines frequently exhibit signs of sweat residue, indicating inadequate cleaning procedures. The absence of readily available sanitizing wipes or sprays for members to clean equipment before and after use adds to the unhygienic conditions. This neglectful approach significantly compromises the health and safety of the gym-goers.
Another area of concern is the bathroom facilities. Unfortunately, the cleanliness standards in this regard are particularly abysmal. Foul odors, unclean toilets, and poorly maintained sinks contribute to an unsanitary and uncomfortable experience. A lack of hand soap, paper towels, or hand dryers further amplifies the risk of germ transmission and compromises basic hygiene practices.
As a conscientious gym member, I believe it is crucial for you, as the management, to prioritize the health and well-being of your clientele. A clean and sanitary environment is not only vital for the overall gym experience but also for the prevention of potential infections and illnesses.
Therefore, I kindly request that you take immediate action to address these issues. Some steps that could greatly improve the situation include:
Increasing the frequency and effectiveness of cleaning protocols, particularly focusing on high-traffic areas, equipment, and washroom facilities ensuring the availability of sanitizing wipes or sprays throughout the gym for members to clean equipment before and after use. regularly inspecting and maintaining the washroom facilities, including replenishing essential supplies such as soap, paper towels, and hand dryers. Educating and reminding staff members about the importance of cleanliness and hygiene and their responsibilities in maintaining a healthy environment for gym-goers
I believe that by taking these measures, you can significantly enhance the gym experience for all members, promote a healthier atmosphere, and demonstrate your commitment to customer satisfaction.
I sincerely hope that you will take my concerns seriously and initiate the necessary improvements promptly. As an invested member, I genuinely value the positive impact a clean and healthy gym environment can have on my fitness journey. I am confident that with your dedication and attention to these matters, we can restore the gym to the standard of cleanliness and hygiene it should uphold.
Thank you for your prompt attention to...
Read moreI recently joined 24 HF and am trying out various locations. Wow, did this one shock me. Went for a spin class and almost all the bikes had broken /inoperable displays. Not a big deal, bikes still usable. However I couldn't make out a word the instructor said bc of the crappy speaker setup. I needed water after. Went to 3 water fountains bc the first 2 had no water. All of them were completely encrusted with mineral buildup. Then I went to check out weight machines and felt really dumb (being new to the gym experience) because I couldn't see how to adjust weights on anything. Finally a random person told me "you have to bring your own pin". Uh, what?? Then I went to have a look at the pool area. Pool was murky. Hot tub was completely out of order and roped off. Steam room door broken such that it wouldn't stay closed (unfortunately a sign saying "keep the door closed" isn't enough to fix the door). Then I went into the ladies' locker room. Ugh....horrors. The shower area floor was completely littered with bottles, plastic wrap, and clumps of hair from the drains (for this I blame disgusting gym-goers. Have some respect, people. This is why we can't have nice things!). Walked by the sinks. Water was pooled all over the countertops, faucets didn't work well, some soap dispensers were empty, and some soap dispensers were broken into pieces which were laying on the counter. I'd seen enough and walked out to find a cleaner bathroom, but only saw one that was closed without explanation. I went back into the locker room because I really felt the need to wash my hands, and found the air hand dryers almost dead. It was about as effective as having someone blow on my hands. I NEVER complain at a business. I've been in customer service my whole life. But I had to say something. Behind the front counter 4 or 5 guys were enjoying conversation and phone time. All but one turned away when I said "um......is it always this dirty everywhere?". I got the excuse that 2 people had called in sick and they had no female janitor. Please figure out how to clean the locker room anyway. And maybe have ANYone regularly clean the water fountains. And maybe just close this location and put the money into...
Read moreUnfortunately, a lot of the other reviews here pointing out the EXTREMELY poor sanitation of this place is true. In short, the bathrooms are absolutely putrid, smell like urine, and honestly despite seeing (one) worker "clean" the restroom occasionally, it really makes me wonder if ANYTHING in this gym is actually cleaned. As a side note, often times in the weight room/cardio room of this business, there is often a lack of paper towels and sanitizing spray, which is quite concerning given the high traffic in this place, which I will address again later.
In terms of equipment, don't let the size of the gym fool you. If you only want to do cardio, that's fantastic: there's a lot of machines for that. However, I would say over 50% of the gym's floor space is covered by cardio equipment and not actual weights or machines. Likewise, this is not a problem, UNTIL you consider how many people actually come here. It's one of the few gyms in this area, which explain why despite its problems, there are still so many people here. If you go basically any time that isn't 3 AM, you will have more people than machines in this gym. If you want to go around 7-9 AM, it's genuinely not that bad relative to the horror that you will encounter later in the day. If you want to go around 12PM-12AM, good luck getting any piece of popular equipment like a bench or a squat rack.
That's not mentioning the equipment that is often damaged or unusable. There are often broken machines and BROKEN WEIGHTLIFTING PLATFORMS. If you're looking for small plates, you're gonna have to look hard as there are basically no plates smaller than a 10 here unless you scour the entire gym.
I would say these wouldn't even be huge problems considering it's a commercial gym. However, when you're paying specialty gym membership rates for something like this, you might as well just pay the extra dollars for an actual gym that seems to have its...
