San Marcos Activity Center — Attraction in San Marcos

Scheduled events can make it difficult to use the basketball courts; so call in ahead of time if you just want to shoot around. Other than that, everything else is very accessible. It's cold inside. I come in wearing warm-ups until I've acclimated to the temp or have gotten warm from exercise. Weight-assisted gym, indoor pool, 2 full size bball courts, racketball courts, aerobic/dance rooms and available classes, VERY AFFORDABLE membership prices, water fountains and bottle filler fountains, basketball/equipment rentals, event room rentals, etc etc. It's the best place in town. (Ammended: docked 1 star because the bball courts are perpetually reserved. Im joking, but it can be very difficult to get onto the court for some people due to constant reservation of BOTH courts), oh and docked another point because they don't respect your time if you haven't paid to reserve the courts. They list the event times and then cut into normal hours even more, 30 minutes here and there even though it's outside the scheduled event time. Eg, time for event listed 7pm-close, actual time they kick you out: 6.30pm. No respect for your schedule but they expect you to respect theirs. Really cool,...

The short guy is very mean and disrespectful and kicks us out 15 minutes before our basketball practice ends even tho we pay for 2 hours and he gives us 1/5 hours. All the other employees are very nice it’s expect for the short guy he is very very very very very mean he needs to be fired. He has no patience and screams at us all the time. This is not a joke he’s actually very mean. He gives us dirty looks all the time and we try to just ignore it but he always stares. He has kicked us off the court for no reason and we are members of the SMACK. Even the parents have noticed how mean he is we have been trying to tell the front desk but we don’t know how. Me and my friends were going to the weight room and we didn't know there was an age requirement so we got condescendingly kicked out of it. And on top of that we got watched by one of the staff as we walked all the way down the hall.

Also we went to the basketball court and we literally just touched the net and they got super mad and threatened to kick us out.

Overrall 2 stars because the only nice person was one of the managers or maintenance staffi forgot the title and name of.

If you're a young person under 16 don't come here with your friends or alone have an adult because I assure you they will abuse their power and be the biggest handful...
