My family and I have been long time Lilly fans for quite some time. Our favorite memory is stopping by the store in St Armand’s square in Sarasota, Florida on our annual family vacation to Siesta Key. The men were given ice cold beers and women a glass of champagne and we would laugh, shop and leave with bags of new clothes and accessories to kick off the school year. The past few years, the customer service is lacking greatly at this store to a point it is distinctly memorable year after year. Not one employee greeted our family with the simple gesture of a smile or how can I help you?
Today was the icing on the cake when my three year old daughter needed to use the restroom. Considering we had been to this store multiple times, I knew where the restroom was and took her straight there before an accident occurred. While my daughter is still using the restroom, there was a knock at the door and I opened it assuming it was my mother who followed us and was checking on us, but it was an employee. This employee proceeded to tell me while my daughter is still using the restroom that the restroom is not for customers use. I was completely perplexed and still replaying it through my head that she didn’t immediately apologize and shut the door as she could visibly see my daughter using the restroom (Disgusting). She proceeded to go on that it’s a corporate policy because of “covid” and that we could not use the restroom. The excuses were flowing and I finally shut the door after confirming that the ladies name was Mary. We get out of the restroom and walk to my mother who is checking out and I asked to speak to a manager. One of the ladies was a shift manager and they said the store manager was at lunch. The shift manager when asked where their customers should use the restroom told us that we could have used the public restroom in the parking garage a block away from their store. My daughter and I left the store and my mother stayed to return her items because she couldn’t support someone who treats their customers with this much disrespect. About that time, the other manager was back and started spitting off excuses that the plumbing was bad and if we just would have asked (if you have a 3 year old who needs to go number two, you don’t ask, you get them to a restroom immediately no questions asked) they would have made an “exception”. Truly disheartening experience today and sadly we will not be returning to this location.
It was very surprising to see that we were not the only ones with poor customer experience based on the Google reviews. We know what it’s like to be treated well by employees at Lilly stores and this one should be an embarrassment to the Lilly Pulitzer name.
Hoping this brings a spotlight to this store and allows corporate to bring attention to the employees that our representing...
Read moreThis is the second time I have been into the store and felt very unwelcomed. Except for one sales associate who had short hair and glasses, who was very accommodating. everyone else in the store was very standoffish and rude. I had two young children with me along with my mother and my aunt who are looking at products and no one offered their help. I did make a purchase of almost a $200 dress and everyone was still not friendly and not kind and I felt very unwelcome in the store. I have never felt such a way in a LillyPultizer store. And this is the second time I have felt this way and that is why I feel so provoked to write a review I regret my decision to buy the dress in store. I should have purchased it online. I do not feel like the store deserved that sale. I travel to Sarasota often and this will be the last time I visit a hole...
Read moreEvery year we vacation in Anna Maria for a month. My girlfriend and I always pick a day and go shopping down in St Armands. This year the staff was less than welcoming and had zero desire to help with anything. Even with the Covid stuff going on and a limit on how many people inside. Meaning it was not busy at all and I quickly took notice that the staff wasn’t helping anyone. And when I did ask a question while paying for my items the reply was a strong Nope before I could even finish my question. So my girlfriend and I decided after I made my purchase (she put hers back) to leave and go to another locally owned store that sells Lilly and shopped our hearts out! The ladies at the store we enjoyed were beyond kind, respectful and were more than...
