GREEN ZEBRA CAFE — Restaurant in Sarasota

Bad experience. Poor service. Condescending millennial behind the counter who has terrible customer service and food service skills. To clarify, he answered the phone and took a phone order, entered it in the system and ignored me for 5 minutes after I had already been waiting for him to service the customer in front of me in line for 10 minutes. After ordering and waiting 15 minutes to get a juice and realizing it had not even been started I walked out without it. I asked the arrogant cashier who moved slightly slower than a sloth to make my drink the first opportunity he got and I’d be back in about an hour for it. He replied he would make it when I got back or when he wanted not when I wanted. When I mentioned to him I had already been waiting 15 minutes for him to start making my juice he thought it would be appropriate to let me know it had only been five minutes in his opinion. I was so infuriated at his attitude and lack of basic customer service skills I never went back and got my drink. I enjoy healthy food and try to support local businesses but the food here is mediocre to sub standard at best with high prices and consistently horrible service. We were thrilled with our first experience here, Sunday lunch. They do have meat here by the way, but apparently a lot of vegetarians and vegans love this place I am not vegan but ordered a wrap with goat cheese mushrooms and egg and spinach. Big delicious fresh and tasty. I’m going to come back to this place for sure! My friend who is gluten-free and dairy free had an equally impressive sandwich. Service was friendly and the menu is extensive. I generally dont Enjoy Cafe atmosphere but this was nice people sitting with laptops I found the desert that was gluten-free and dairy free to be expensive, 650? Moderately tasty The coffee which comes in a Huge interesting cup was also 350 but it was free refills They don’t sell kombucha

All in all, this place is a hit in my opinion and they are opening another location on Main Street in Sarasota ...going to make a big ComPetition for the current popular “health food “restaurant there, Lila’s which is quite expensive and not interesting to me Personally. My family visited Green Zebra Cafe today and had a distressing experience concerning food allergens and customer service. My daughter, who is severely allergic to tree nuts, ordered vegan tacos from a menu that did not indicate they contained walnuts. She had an allergic reaction after consuming the tacos, and only then was it confirmed by the staff that they contained walnuts.

The service was poor and dismissive, especially considering the seriousness of the situation. Despite the restaurant being busy, rushing through orders and not clearly indicating allergens can have dangerous consequences. This incident resulted in an urgent trip to the hospital, incurring both distress and medical expenses.

I urge the restaurant to clearly indicate all allergens on their menu and train their staff to handle such inquiries with more care. This experience was extremely stressful and disappointing, and I hope they take steps to prevent such incidents...
