I am done with this salon! I would not recommend it to anyone looking for pleasant, reliable service. I have gone to The Met hair salon, weekly, for the past 4 years and have put up with as much as I could. For some reason they are incapable of giving me a standing appointment. How difficult could that be? Two weeks ago, I arrived on Friday for my "standing appointment," only to be told that I didn't have one. When I asked, at the desk, why I didn't have an appointment, I was told "I don't know." That cavalier attitude is typical. No big deal for them. This incident would have been understandable had it been the first time, but this was the 4th or 5th time this has happened to me over the past 2 years and no one on the staff seemed the least bit concerned. The only reason I stayed was due to the efforts of my stylist who did all she could to make me stay. She got another stylist to attend to me. My stylist, Linda, has been wonderful, as are the other stylists, but the support (reception/scheduling) staff is ill mannered and incompetent. As a high-end salon, I expect the staff to be helpful and welcoming. The attitude at this salon is neither. I spend about $4,000. a year in the salon and they couldn't care less. As the owner, I would think Mr. Michel would make the changes necessary to correct this incompetence. I have looked at several other Google reviews of his establishment and I am by no means the first to complain about the staff's bad attitude and sheer lack of class. When I opened the reviews, the first 3 were bad. Mine will be the 4th in a row. How many others have also had unpleasant experiences but have not given reviews and simply not returned? Read moreIf no stars were an option, that is what i would select to rate The Met. The employees that work the main floor of the retail area were beyond snobby and rude. They immediately judged my mom and I because we stopped in while walking the town, and were not dressed to their standards. They barley gave us the time of day or helped my mom who was shopping to find a dress for a last minute event. After searching on our own, someone finally came and asked if we needed a room. We were in there for about 25 minutes and not one employee came to check on us or ask if we needed help. We felt beyond disrespected and ended up leaving. On our way out my mom noticed an outfit in the window, and was desperate to find something last minute, so we went back in and asked where that outfit was. Immediately, we could feel that the employees energy shift as if we were an inconvenience to them. One employee told us there were none left, so i asked her to check the one in the window. This sparked her attitude to go from a 7 to a 10. She proceeded to walk to the window and checked the tag of the outfit and rudely told my mom the size and cost, insinuating that she wasn’t going to spend the amount of money the outfit was. This lady had no idea how much my mom was planning on spending, because she never asked about one thing my mom was looking for, and was clearly was judging us based off of our appearance. For a store located in the heart of a tourist area, the employees should really have a more opened mind as to the customers that walk in there. At the end of the day if you are an employee at a store, you treat everyone with the same kind of respect and dignity and not make the costumers that walk in feel like trash. Read moreBought a shirt and jeans from there in May 2021 shirt ripped within 1 month which they exchange d but I had to give cash as they did not have a replacement and only thing in there was more expensive, I paid but bad taste. Less than 2 months later the jeans ripped at the seam, upon returning I was told that they believe I ripped them and were not interested in helping me. I was first told by assistant Sam who I insisted got a manager for me to talk to, I was then met by the owner Joffrey who told me he wanted to make me happy but insisted I had done it. I am 50 years old and have owned several pair of jeans as you can imagine. I also live 45 mins away so taking anything back there is a pain. I never complain but feel customer service was none excellent and they really do not care. I have lived in Sarasota over 25 years and have spent thousands $$ there. NEVER AGAIN AND I WILL LET EVERYONE KNOW.
Wow, I was going to come on here and say how they did replace the jeans and everything was good until I read the reply. At no time was I aggressive with his staff but I did tell the salesman I wanted to speak to a manager and was told no one could see me . I then told them I would wait until some one was available. I truly believe you were not given the true story and came Into the conversation with lies you had been told, all I wanted was the jeans replaced, no confrontation and definitely no lies.
