Rooftop Designs — Attraction in Schaumburg Township

Pitiful Pitiful Would never recommend Rooftop Designs to anyone. Pay alittle more and get a reliable contractor. I ordered a roof, 13 windows , fascia which I stressed to Gabe ( salesman) was my priority because it was rotten through and new gutters. The job was supposed to be done in 6-8 weeks. Took 16 weeks 3 days no communication, the roofers and their boss had no idea about the fascia. The gutters they were supposed to cap off the openings to the sewer(2) they put the downspouts in the pipe . Had to have them come back plus make sure if your suppose to have gutter guards they put them on, unfortunately I had the get a ladder to see if they put them on NOPE ! Had to send pictures and they had to come out again. I couldn’t get ahold of anyone trying to find out what was going on when it was going on 12 weeks, very frustrating I have never dealt with such unprofessional company. The one good thing is the window installation (DC Exteriors) was really great all around communication, measuring giving me a time frame, friendly did a very professional job. Answered all my questions and kept me informed. I would highly recommended them and run away from rooftop designs.Go with a roofing company that is in your city for one thing, rooftop is in Illinois and has their connections in other parts of the United States.Bel Air, MD. So how can they know what’s going on. Right there for final payment which was $3000 over estimate, had to ask what the $3000 was for.Very Very Stressful It took them 4 weeks after putting on roof to install gutters (4 weeks without gutters). Our story is that we had a roof that had 2 leaks, hail damage and gutters that did not move water away from the house. In one case, water flowed over the gutter, ran down the sliding and came into the dining room and ruined the wall board and insulation. In another event we had ceiling damage in our master bedroom and our garage roof.

We got three quotes, but Mark from Rooftop Designs evaluated our roof and gutter problems, gave us accurate insight for what was causing those problems, spent an hour with us showing us materials and why we would benefit. He was the one sales rep that took the time and answered every one of our questions – He also noticed many issues the other roofers did not - Those sales reps were brief, vague on specifics, didn’t spend more than 15 minutes with me and didn’t follow up.

Scheduling for the roofing and new gutters went very smoothly – so did the installation. What I can say is that everyone was professional, on time and did an excellent job. There were no problems. Everything was done right the first time.

It’s been a month since we got our new roof and gutters. All water problems are gone. The house looks excellent, and we are very happy with the results. I would recommend this company to any of my friends, relatives, and business colleagues – Rooftop Designs is that good. In Illinois, the cost of hiring someone to work on any part of a home is high – contractors usually want to charge too much for too little work and too little quality. Rooftop Designs fees were reasonable, and the work was very high quality. I have no buyer’s remorse for anything they did on our home.

This has been the absolute worst experience ever. Where do I start?

Leaving a generator and removing the old roof by dumping it on the grass, killing my grass… no resolution whatsoever.

Without being requested or invoiced, they changed downspouts to a smaller size (3”)… now water gets in my house (3 times since their work) and shoots out of the downspout seams. I have not had any flooding in over 10 years, until now, because I had larger sized downspouts installed (4 1/4”). No one at Rooftop Designs will actually listen to my concern and they keep telling me to produce an invoice for the gutters and downspouts, and they were only contracted to remove and reset the gutters and downspouts

My siding has been damaged because of the way they attached the downspouts.

Steve, a Regional Manager, sat in my living room while I explained the issue and then went out and looked at the terrible work that was done on the downspouts, in addition to looking at my home on Google Maps. He informed me that the office responsible for the work on my home had been replaced and that he would be getting back to us with a resolution. Since, he has requested documentation that Rooftop Designs was contracted to change the gutters and downspouts. I do not have this documentation because Rooftop Designs was not supposed to do anything but take down the gutters and downspouts and then reset after completing the roof.
