I had been looking for a new helmet for some time and ended up on the Cycle Gear website . Such a large selection of not only helmets but so much other gear. But I knew I wanted a Blue Tooth helmet. I was in Soquel this week and looked for a cycle gear and ended up in Seaside. I didn’t get her name but the female employee was really very helpful. I saw the original helmet I wanted and she found a helmet for me to try on. I realized then and there because I couldn’t get it over my head that I had to try the Modular helmet in that size and it fit perfectly. The modular was the answer for me. I asked her if they had the Modular helmet in Matte Black in XL and came out with the right size and color. She was very accommodating. I tried it on and loved the features. I purchased the helmet and I especially love the BlueTooth. I wore the new helmet on my ride back to Soquel. I received a call while riding and the sound was great and the phone process was very intuitive. I also had been riding with a 3/4 helmet and wondered why it took me so long to purchase the full face because it shut out all the road noice and wind. I’m If I’m ever in that area again I would definitely stop in and say hello. ...
Read moreThe Seaside location did not disappoint. Wife and I were in town to visit our kid at CSUMB, and saw that there was a Cycle Gear store here. We came from San Jose, and we have a Cycle Gear here, so I'm very familiar with the store. There was a riding jacket that I've been looking for, and it's been out of stock in stores and online. I decided to look online at their store before stopping in, and the website said they had it in stock. We ended up going in to look, before heading home. They actually had my size, albeit was the last one, and it was perfect. That Street and Steel Drifter Jacket was finally mine. The store was absolutely dead inside, for the hour we were there, on a Friday night, which was different for me, as the San Jose store is usually bustling with people. No complaints on my side. The staff was attentive, asking if we found everything okay, if we needed help finding anything. We looked around, they had lots of inventory, and the store was clean. We decided to purchase my find, and leave before I found more things that "I wanted for Christmas". Overall...
Read moreMy visit to Cycle gear was about what I expected, given the staff working that day—two young men and a young woman. 3/1/25 They greeted us when we walked in, which was appreciated. When I asked where to find children’s gloves, they pointed me in the right direction. However, as we continued shopping, no one checked in to see if we needed any assistance.
At checkout, the cashier didn’t greet or acknowledge us while ringing up our items. Meanwhile, the other two employees were engaged in a personal conversation, laughing and enjoying themselves. It felt more like a social gathering than a workplace. It wasn’t until my friend commented on their lack of attentiveness that one of the young men finally stepped up and called the next person in line.
Overall, the experience felt unprofessional, and I hope that on my next visit, the staff is more focused on assisting customers rather than...
