What I asked for and showed Catherine vs What I got for $340 and coming in with white hair. I told her Draculaura vibes and spent 5 hours in the chair for my hair to not be what I wanted. No one asked me if I liked it, no one asked me if I liked the bangs where they were, I am not impressed as Great Clips always gave me more attention and respect than this. I feel like an experiment that failed, my hair is 3 different colors and she told me the purple would fade to pink but not to wash for two days. Iām embarrassed Update: I called the store and asked for a manager and told her that my hair was botched. She offered a full refund outside of my tip or to redo it. I explained my hair had already been white from me bleaching it and that they had bleached my hair again while I was there so I didnāt really want to try to bleach BLACK out of my hair so soon. I also wanna add that Catherine told me we would be doing more pink than black to try to avoid having to go back and bleach, you can throw black on top but you canāt throw pink on top of black without bleaching. I say I was an experiment because she had even added UV reactive hair dye onto my head without telling me beforehand. I really felt like she was rushing at the end, I had originally been messaging her before the appointment telling her Iād like to have it colored and cut and had originally signed up for the olaplex repair treatment as well. After my hair was colored, she went to style it and I asked if we werenāt gonna cut it, as I had told her previously I did want it cut as well. I had a whole conversation with Catherine telling her I had not been to a salon since pre Covid so this trip was important to me and why I took to social media to see the type of work she did and saw she had color while others in the area were mostly more neutral colors. During the five hours I was there she was helping other clients, but I was actually falling asleep in the chair waiting, hearing someone acknowledge me spooked me even as I really felt like her last priority. After my hair was colored, she turned me away from the mirror so I didnāt even see what it looked like until after the cut and my hair was curled. By then I had been there for five hours and already been dozing off so I didnāt really wanna complain and deal with it. I called the store just a few hours later though. When I went in for my refund the next day the manager didnāt even ask to see what my hair was supposed to look like and while I can see where that can be pressure free, I also felt like they didnāt even care how badly my hair was botched and didnāt care to try to prevent this from happening again. All of the other stylists had been complimenting my hair the whole time, but I wish I had printed the pictures out so EVERYONE could see my hair was not supposed to be all black and purple besides my roots and that Catherine had failed. All in all I am still disappointed that they didnāt care to try to prevent anything like this in the future. Even with the prior conversations I feel like if she couldnāt do it she shouldāve said something and when she saw that it was not what I asked she shouldāve acknowledged it. I feel like they blame me or wanna talk down on me for not liking it but it really is not what I asked and now a lot harder for me to do try to find someone who wants to try to take black out of my already...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBy far the worst experience Iāve had with a hair stylist. I received a hair cut and express keratin treatment from Luanne. I arrived 10 minutes early to my appointment and was ignored for 15 minutes while employees laughed and had personal conversations around me. The environment did not improve for the entire appointment. I specifically booked an elite stylist because I wanted to pay for a more experienced stylist, but was told that a trainee would be washing and blow drying my hair. I told Luanne directly that I was not comfortable with that and she still insisted that the trainee wash and dry my hair.
The express keratin treatment was booked as an add on to my signature hair cut, but Luanne charged me the full price for the keratin express treatment, claiming that it is only offered as an add on to a color treatment, which is not what is listed on the booking website. I paid full price for an add on service.
My simple haircut of removing 1 inch off my length was done very poorly and in less than 5 minutes. I had large sections of hair just cut off and not blended in at all. I was not aware that the keratin treatment required temperatures above 300 degrees to be applied to my hair. I expressed directly to Luanne that I was not comfortable with any temperature above 300 degrees on my hair and she refused to lower the temperature to minimize damage.
Luanne made several inappropriate comments repeatedly stating that she didnāt want to come to work that day and stating that my hair was coarse and wiry and that all grey hair is coarse and wiry. When blow drying my hair, Luanne continuously ripped through my wet hair with a comb dryer attachment, which was extremely uncomfortable and resulted in breakage.
The entire experience was miserable as my wishes were constantly ignored, employees complained about their clients in front of me and Luanne was extremely inconsiderate. Her ability to cut hair is severely lacking in my experience. Her comments were extremely inappropriate and unprofessional. This was my first beauty service at Ulta and I will not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had a terrible experience in the salon. My stylist was named Jackson. He couldn't have been more disinterested. He didn't even smile. He seemed miserable to be there. From the moment we me until the end of the appt. He didn't smile, barely spoke to me. And when I tried speaking with him, such as asking how long he had been working there, etc he told me "2 weeks" and to everything else he basically said "oh," and didn't engage at all. To top it off my haircut was terrible. I asked for swoopy bangs and a trim. So he cuts my hair and at the end he says, "So I didn't really touch your bangs and I cleaned you up a little bit." So I asked him to cut bangs I showed him photos and explained more in depth how I wanted them. He trimmed so they were down to my chin. And I explained I wanted them to start at my brows and blend into layers framing my face. He reluctantly trimmed them shorter (still not as short as I wanted). And he refused to blend in some layers. He kept taking the shears and sliding them down my hair. I was like "I want you to actually CUT my hair. Like, cut this off. I won't be mad, don't be scared to take off some length." And the fourth time he asked me "how's that?" And it looked exactly the same I gave up. I ended by saying, "I guess so." I still tipped him at the register but shouldn't have. He then went on to do another stylist's hair. Everyone in there could hear me asking for more hair to be cut off and no one offered to help give me the look I wanted. He was just unfriendly, antisocial, and disinterested in his job. It was just a terrible experience. I ended up getting the haircut I wanted in Carmel, and it cost $95 but the girl cutting it was excited to give me what I wanted and it looks fantastic, so it's not like I was asking for him to do some crazy mullet ot weird style that doesn't...
