I am normally a huge fan of this place, and Iāve gone there for massages for years, about once a month. However, my last experience really soured me.
I had a wonderful one-hour massage, and as I was paying, I left my standard 20% tip. Before I signed the receipt, the woman interrupted me and asked me to give her more tip. I was rather shocked. I asked her to repeat herself, and several times she asked for more tip. I went ahead and left her a few extra dollars because I didnāt know what else to do.
I have never encountered anything like this in my time as a customer here, nor anywhere else in the world! It really soured me on this place, and will make me reconsider going back. Iām very disappointed, as Iāve always been a great fan and recommended them to several people.
Update 2/2/25 in response to the ownerās comment: I was not intending any sort of slander, and if you read my post, you will see that I said the massage was wonderful. Thatās why Iāve been going here for years, and I have always walked away an incredibly satisfied customer. I am actually one of your biggest fans.
Please donāt imply that I am lying by telling you that the masseuse asked for more than 20%. If you speak to the employee (or perhaps have any camera footage), you will undoubtedly see that she asked for more than a 20% tip. You can also check the receipt where you can clearly see that I wrote 20%, and then had to cross it out and write more.
Also, my comment is very much in line with the various other people who have said the exact same thing. When I gave her 20% she repeatedly asked for more. I am not saying anything that any other customer has not said.
Again, I reiterate that the massage was fabulous. The technique was perfect, my body felt amazing afterward, and I am as disappointed as you because I felt that what has previously been years of a great customer/business relationship has been tainted.
Please donāt refer to my behavior as āshamelessā by me giving an honest review of what happened during my visit. I feel that her behavior fits the definition of āshameless.ā My hope was that you, as a respectable business owner in Greenwood with a very loyal fan base, would speak to your employee so that their behavior does not turn away future...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is an excellent foot reflexology studio. I had a weekly reflexology habit in my previous neighborhood and after moving needed to find a local place. Greenwood reflexology is my new go-to place. It is spotless, you are seated quickly with or without an appointment, the studio noise level is kept to a minimum, and the staff are hospitable and highly skilled. I am always impressed by the teamwork demonstrated by the staff.
For the uninitiated this studio is something of a hybrid. Typical Western massage techniques like Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone and hot wax therapies are offered, as well as, couples massage. Traditional reflexology foot and body massage are also available and a personal favorite. If you choose the traditional reflexology services you will be invited into a quiet, open room with the lights dimmed. Ambientt music will play in the background and other clients present but you and they will remain clothed. Remove your foot wear after being seated, roll up your pant legs to prepare for the foot soak and relax back into the recliner. Your reflexologist will greet you and inquire as to what your preferences are and what type of service you want that day. Traditionally, firm pressure is used but do tell your reflexologist if you want a lighter pressure. I always ask for 30 minutes of footwork and 30 minutes of bodywork which runs between $40-45 depending on the seniority of the practitioner.
If you choose Western massage therapy you will be escorted to a private room where you will disrobe to your level of comfort, drape yourself with a sheet, and then be joined by your massage therapist. The Swedish and Deep tissue massages are excellent and I'm looking forward to trying the hot stone massage when the weather cools again.
Cash is preferred because of the fees debit and credit card companies charge small business. DO tip generously as you're not gonna find a better value for the price anywhere on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI actually really have loved this place and they saved me many times from serious back pain. Last time however I decided to ad gua sha and found it to be super painful. I said a couple times OW! Please lighten up and the guy just laughed at me and continues scraping my back to the point where he took off my skin. I googled about if this is normal And got a hard no. It didn't feel normal. I normally like to over tip them because the price is low but this time he demanded I pay more saying 20% that this is what the tip is. I told him to raise his prices if he's not getting enough money as I am also a local Service worker / business owner and I understand the rent is high. I also understand that a tip is not garaunteed. Upon waking this morning I realize my back was bleeding after I left and I paid a lot of money to be in more pain. I hate to say that I will not be returning to my beloved massage spot. I love being able to walk in and have a last minute spot but something has been terribly wrong the last two times I came in. Not just this one. The ladies room is gonna be my next Greenwood massage spot I'm thinking. I deserve to be treated like a human and my tĆp disposition respected. I would never berate a client like That even if they didn't leave a tip at all. I hope they find my words helpful and please don't treat people this way. We're not just money , we're humans . I didn't ask for a bloody back. I just wanted...
