I very very very rarely complain about a place. But today, I was pushed over the edge with this location. I will start out by saying that a minimum of 10% of my paycheck gets spent here. 😂 I eat a bowl nearly every day and often force my boyfriend to join me. The food is perfect. It is staffed by very young, unprofessional, people in general. I have had to point out obvious cross-contaminations (For example, dropping a spoon into a clump of peanut butter and then using that same spoon to put into the community coconut jar). I am allergic to a certain food and one time they forgot that I mentioned it, tossed that fruit in, remembered, and then scooped it out, and proceeded to make my bowl. They were out of vegan chocolate chips once, and it was noted on a tiny piece of paper behind the counter. I ordered my food and only saw the piece of paper on my way out the door (it was stuck to their computer as a reminder to mention it to customers.) people are very allergic to peanuts, dairy, and a variety of fruits, and the people working here don’t seem to understand the severity of that. And I’m surprised no one has had a major issue yet. Today, I came in to buy my second bowl of the day and the gal mentioned that they were out of 5s and 10s so to keep that in mind if paying with cash. The total was $25.32 and I asked for a reminder of the change. I put down a $20 and a $5, and she said, “No. it’s $32.” So I grabbed my cash and pulled out my debit card. “Oops. I must have misheard. Sorry.” She ran the card and turned the screen around and it said, “$25.32”. “Ohhhhh, 32 was the change. Sorry. I thought you meant I was getting out the wrong dollar amount.” The girl responded with, “Umm. No. That’s what I said.” No harm. No foul. It was paid for. And I apologized twice. Maybe the misunderstanding was my fault but as a paying customer, I should have been met with the “Oops. Sorry for the misunderstanding there.” Nothing major overall but the people working here need to be taught a bit about customer service and food safety. Because I’ve honestly been shocked by some of my...
Read moreI've embarked on a veritable açai odyssey, sampling bowls far and wide, yet Verve Bowls reigns supreme! Their dedication to crafting the perfect bowl is unparalleled – no premixing here, and the peanut butter? Woven throughout every bite, not just lazily plopped on top. This level of care and quality sets them leagues apart from the rest. But, dear reader, my love letter doesn’t end here. I've a modest proposal that could revolutionize your Verve experience: the strategic granola deployment. By splitting the granola, half beneath the açai mix and half aloft, each spoonful from start to magnificent finish is a texture lover’s dream. This isn't mere conjecture; it's a tested theory that, by my calculations, amplifies bowl enjoyment by a staggering 37%. Verve, your bowls have captured my heart and taste buds. By considering this small tweak, you could elevate the sublime to the divine. Berry lovers, unite and advocate for this granular revolution. Verve isn’t just making bowls; they’re crafting experiences. Cheers to the team that makes us come back for more, spoon in hand and hearts full...
Read moreI’d wanted to try this place for a while, and finally found myself in Ballard, so I went for it. Upon getting to the store, one set of doors were open, and the other closed, so I went into the open set. Immediately upon entering I was asked if I was doing take out or if I had an online order to pick up. I explained take out, and before I had a chance to explain I had never been there, the individual told me I had gone through the wrong doors, and the line started on the other side. Not even two seconds later he had turned to his coworkers and openly mocked my incompetence to read the sign at the checkout area, who laughed along with him, even though I had literally just taken two steps into the store. I almost left right then, but I figured I’d give the bowls a try. The person wearing the 1985 orange bowl shirt was friendly, and she was helpful. The bowl was made quickly, and it was pretty tasty. Overall though, I’m not sure I’d go back. It was a pretty disappointing “we don’t want you here” experience, which is a shame, because the food was...
