Based on the excellent review score, I placed an order for pickup. I wish I could give it the same excellent review but I can't. Arrived about 5 min early and saw our order bag on the counter, waiting to be filled (which is super helpful). I pointed to the order I was waiting for when asked. And then I waited. And waited. I saw people come in, order, and get their food before mine was filled. I saw the servicer take an allocated item from my order to fill someone else's order (I asked him about it and he said it was a quick thing to re-add). I saw new take-out orders come in and be filled before mine. I saw everything was ready for my order but fries. Pointed it out to the server and he picked up fries from the counter that had been sitting there open since I arrived (now 20 min) to fill my order. I asked for, and got, the fresh fries I saw other orders getting. Order was finally filled. I didn't mind that it was late because they were busy; I minded because we were continually skipped over in the fill order. The wraps were good, the fries were good, but the snacks/sides were disappointing. They didn't look as nice as the pictures, they were kind of thrown together. I wish I'd taken a picture. We won't...

Order style: for here
*Disclaimer: usually we compare and rate "regular" unflavored fries + any favored fries, but this place only has the flavored fries too taste and no "regular"
Texture: overall average, a wanna be strong outer with the overall texture being soft, hit and miss with crispy. If you want crispy fries, this is not your place, but if you're ok with fair food fries with a thin occasional crisp, this is the spot.
Flavor: wow yummy! :) I'm not a spicy girl, usually like lvl 1 everything and I could handle these and wanted more. As a non spice eater, I do rate these at a level 2 spicy, but totally tolerable and addictive. My tongue is burning but not in a bad way. It doesn't feel salty, which is great, just full of flavor.
Comes with side of green chutney, a lovely cool dip to balance the spice. Herbaceous.
While this is an anomaly on Tour de Fry, I would 100% recommend the fries and come to...
Read moreBe careful, the rolls may seem bitesize but they pack a tasty and filling punch. I mean, when they say lamb, chicken or aloo rolls, they aren't kidding. Each kind of roll is packed (like stuffed) full with the filling of its choice and no wasted additives. The flavors are balanced and has a subtle kick too it, but not overbearingly spicy. The chana chaat and sweet yogurt is delish too. Service is generally quick, although I suggest ordering ahead of time for efficiency. I'm glad they're in Ballard and offering a different kind of menu. Excited to see this business grow.
Edit: Because we're big fans of Spice Waala, we chose them to cater a party we hosted. Their process was simple with a bit of back-n-forth over email and online invoice payment via Square. Suffice to say, we should've doubled the amount of rolls we ordered because they were an instant hit with our guests and incredibly satisfying. I think I should've just let their rolls be the main course....
