Horrible mistake coming to this location. I have a boy style haircut that is a bit longer on one side (an asymmetrical pixie: short on one side, long on the other).
I've gone to the ballard location 2 times and great each time. But long story short, Fremont was an easier option for my return trip this weekend and now I wish I would have just taken a cab to ballard. Got my hair cut late this morning.
Said I would wait longer to make sure I got someone who could do the kind of women's haircut I have. I was given to the person who had the first empty chair to fill.
tipped $10 on a $35 haircut that turned out to be bad….but couldn't tell until I got home. The lighting and distance between mirrors doesn't work in your favor for seeing "blending" problems.
At this location the seats are further from the mirrors, the lighting is worse, and in my case the extremely short stylist had the chair so low I could only see the top 1/3 of my head. She huffed at me initially when I asked her to raise the chair so I could show her what I wanted ---- in response to her asking me.
A FREE shampoo does come with ALL haircuts, but they do not offer at all. I let it go.
The stylist has left chunky marks in the graded part of the back of my haircut. So from the neck to midway up the back of the head. And she left chunky marks on the side of my head where the hair is very short. I could tell she was struggling but it had seemed like she fixed it.
When she was "styling" my hair she kept bunching my hair over to the far side so I looked like a 6 year old boy done with sports practice. I'd fix it so it was a gradual sweep and she'd put it back. Repeat 3 times, even when I told her I didn't like my hair that way she did it again. And she put an oil spray in my hair that smelled like grandma perfume. I just don't get it.
This is one of the Rudy's locations where they do want you to call ahead. That's what I did. In Ballard, they pretend to take your call-ahead notice, but don't actually do it and don't dell you they don't do it. But at this Fremont one they told a guy who finished up with his haircut to make sure he calls ahead next time to be put on the list before he arrives.
So call ahead to be on the list if you decide to try your luck with the...
Read moreGO SEE NAT!!!! (I went to Fremont, she is also at Ballard). I've never posted pics of myself on a review, but pics say a thousand words, and ive only got 1000 characters. Long story short: My stylist of 20 years retired about 12 years ago. Since then, everytime I have had a haircut anywhere, when I leave, I go home and shape it the way I asked, while crying, sure that I'll screw it up and prays it grows fast (I always give pics of my own hair from back in the day). This time around, as my hair is super gray/silver coming in, I was going to do "my haircut" but in talking to her a lot, messing around with it, and sharing I was totally cool if we could take the "trauma trim" and go to a "cut it off" like I did those that no longer served a purpose in my life LOL (my words, she was super compassionate about what I meant). So we did! I gave her reign on her vision, because she took the time in a short period to learn about me as an individual. I want want to embrace that premenopause! She allowed me the space, even asked if I wanted to do the first cut, this was my experience, she was was the vessel of support and excitement to join me in this journey.
So - if you want an amazing cut, and a far more affordable price than I expected, in an environment that supports you, with a person that you can't help but trust...
Read moreI go to the Rudy’s in West Seattle by my home and have always had good experiences. I had an appointment in the Fremont area with work in a couple hours so I called into this location to see if they could get me in before work. They said they could get me in at 11:30 which worked for me.
I arrived 10 minutes early as I do to everything and checked in. 11:30 rolls around and nothing, totally fine. 11:35 rolls around and still nothing, again not too concerned. 11:40 rolls around and I go to politely check in and make sure they know I’m scheduled for 11:30, he lets me know my barber is “finishing up”. I say, “Awesome, no worries”. I don’t get called back until 11:55, almost half an hour after my scheduled appointment to which I deny due to the fact I have to be somewhere. “I’m not going to have time, I was scheduled 30 minutes ago” were my exact words.
I didn’t get an apology but I did get a passive aggressive attitude from my barber as if I was in the wrong for being upset. For a shop charging $30 for people being 5 minutes late, you’d think they’d be timely with their procedures. Looks like they only care when they’re the ones making money from late fees.
If you have a working job in the city, are punctual with your arrivals, and expect punctual service, this is not the...
