Very friendly, but hands down the worst haircut I've had in my life. Came in and had a short wait before I sat down for a haircut. I'm quite confident he didn't even make eye contact with me when he addressed me to have a seat, as he took notice of my over ear headphones and directed me to take them off, yet he didn't notice my glasses that every other hairdresser I've had has told me to remove. (?) I showed the barber (didn't get his name) my ID, because my current preference for my hair is the same as my ID photo, since I like my hair in it. It would be a stretch to say he even took 15 minutes, clippers and scissors flying chaotically around my head. It's 1.5 - 2.5 inches shorter on the top than my picture and 1 - 2.5 inches shorter on the sides as well. He also shaved down my sideburns, which I didn't ask him to do, and he didn't tell me he was doing that nor did he verify it with me in any way. He kept trying to make small talk and get friendly with me, but I could tell he had this same conversation with every shmuck (guess I'm a shmuck today) who walked in the door and was dumb enough to ask him for a haircut. The queue grew quite long during my quick haircut, and despite only having one colleague two chairs over, he only added 5 to 10 minutes to the estimated wait time that he told each customer as they walked in. I wish I could say it was only a waste of 25 dollars, but I hate this haircut so much that I went right across the street and bought two hats to conceal it, so it ended up being 45$. Most uncomfortable experience I've had at a barber/hairdresser in my life, and once again, massive...
Read moreI personally would not recommend going to this shop. Here are a few reasons, The value you get for the price you may is really low ($30 + haircut), depending on the style you want to get. If you’re looking for the classic and typical fade - they’d do a decent job. I was not looking for that and requested a style suitable to my hair but the stylist did not deliver the same. Stylist did not pay attention and follow my natural hair parting or shape of the face. They often kept making comments like “this haircut is going to get you so many girlfriends” and “this is the best haircut you’ll get” to gaslight you to accept it. They also tried to small talk and asked racial/ethnic questions (in a obviously direct way) which was not called for. I’d expect a stylist to make small talk and be nice to their customer but not at the expense of the one job I’m there for - the haircut! I’m not sure how often do they sanitize their equipment between use or follow a cleaning procedure. Their razors felt like they kept getting stuck while moving through the hair which wasn’t a good feeling. The haircut barely took 15 minutes and the whole procedure felt like a “let’s get as many haircuts ($$$) as possible” situation.
In summary, I know I can receive a much better service at other places where I pay the same or $5 more. If you don’t really care about these things, it’s probably a good place for you. If you do, please go...
Read moreI’ve lived in Seattle for years and honestly this is the best place I’ve found for getting a solid beard line up! Instead of just using an electric razor for the whole thing like most places, you get all your detailing and the edges of your lineup done with a straight razor. I’m a really hairy guy so I also usually get a bit of hair off my eyebrows, too! The work is incredible, and I routinely walk in with a scraggly beard that MJ turns into a presentable, business-like beard in no time. Personally I recommend getting a haircut and beard trim at the same time as (I believe) a beard trim is free with a $25 haircut. Trust me, it’s worth every penny, and you won’t find a better shave in Seattle, ESPECIALLY if you’re a hairier guy that needs a straight razor.
Pro tip, lots of customers are college students so if you can swing in there during peak class hours you’ll probably do a little better as...
