Vashon Island — Attraction in Seattle

I planned on riding the ferry over to Bremerton from Seattle. I spent nearly 2.5 hours trying to find the terminal, and my Garmin got me close to it. There is a lot of construction in the area and no one has thought to put any signs out helping us tourist find the terminal. One sign under the double deck freeway pointed east away from the Ferry which took me up into downtown Seattle where closed streets and one way streets kept me from getting anywhere near the Ferry terminal in time to catch the 8:30 ferry. Today was my first experience for water taxi. Actually I could not take the ride due to pet policy. They do not allow pet to be on taxi, even I broght my pet with a closed pet carrier. If I knew earlier, I might not wait for the taxi for an hour at the waiting area. No one mentioned to us about pet policy and they rejected me to take a trip at the door of taxi. Please, put a sign at the ticket counter and waiting area for the people who travel with their pet...

Ferry trips are a fantastic way to experience the Seattle skyline! Take the ferry to Bainbridge Island for an afternoon and soak up the views of the city from a completely new perspective. Take a photo, make a postcard...it’s that good.

Car ferries are well-run and well-equipped. Oscillate between the windy wild outdoors and the cozy inside with generous seating.
