Excellent customer service and beautiful pieces. But do NOT believe anything they claim about ethically sourced materials. My pet peeve about companies is big claims they cannot backup.
We had a consultation for a custom engagement ring that wouldve had a unique stone. The girl we met with was VERY friendly, helpful and we were excited. I was especially excited because it is important to me that my ring be ethically sourced and recycled metals are used. I asked her how they verify their gems are ethically sourced and I remember receieving a very vague, general response that didn't quite answer my question. But I trusted them anyway since it seems to be something they advertise openly on their website. With it being a stone that isn't super common, she had to get back to me regarding cost.
A few days later I received an email showing a photo attachment of the stones they could source. Upon quick research, I discovered the stones they were showing me were directly from an Etsy listing. EXACT same picture. A $16 stone, she said would cost $100. (I get it, they need to mark it up...) It came from Jaipur, India, and absolutely NO possible way to verify where the mine is or how people sourcing it are treated. I immediately got suspicious and asked if they have connections with this vendor and how they verify the labor practices. I received no response since then, and absolutely no follow up regarding my custom ring project.
Be. Very. Wary. It is too good to be true. Maybe this company started out using recycled metals or tried sourcing ethical stones, but this "shortcut" really showed me their true colors. Their stuff is beautiful, but is it worth it? To support a company that openly lies and profits off of fake claims that they are "doing the right thing"? Absolutely not. Find a place where you can wear your ring in confidence that no one was mistreated for your pretty stone on your finger and the company behind it isn't shady like...
Read moreKristen, Christine and the entire team at Storica Studio are nothing short of amazing. Kristen was my main contact throughout the process and she felt more like a close friend than anything else, making sure I was happy and understanding of the process each step of the way. The craftsmanship and attention to detail this business brings to the table is unmatched and I am so glad I decided to partner with them to reset my engagement ring. Bonus points for helping me create a new wedding band for my new ring and the fact that they were able to use all my own stones was incredible. I can’t say enough good things about this small business. You will never find the “wow” factor at a big box store that you get with Storica, I can promise you that! From the time I stepped foot into the shop, to the moment I picked up my new rings, I was treated like the only client they had. I will absolutely be returning for more sparkly goodies in the future! Side note, if you have a chance to meet Christine (the owner) in person, do it! She is showing up in the jewelry industry in a way that I’ve never seen and she is one of the kindest people I have ever met!
Update: After sitting with my re-set ring for a short time, I decided the style was not ultimately something I liked and reached back out to craft a more classic, "me" style. Working with Kristen again (and the team) was a breeze, and I now have the ring of my dreams. Still cannot recommend this amazing...
Read moreI was really excited to work with this jeweler but am SUPER bummed with our experience here. my partner and I brought in sentimental emeralds to be made into bespoke rings. we specified exactly what we wanted upon meeting with the jeweler, who didn't take any notes while talking with us -- first red flag that we ignored. so then of course, she didn't remember any of our specifications, which we had to re-tell her via email several times -- second red flag. after I signed a rendering agreement with the correct metal specified, one of our bespoke rings was made with THE WRONG METAL. we're devastated to have one of our emeralds (a difficult gem to mount due to its relative softness) ruined by such carelessness. this place has beautiful jewelry but their bespoke process is a joke. one star reflects how deeply disappointed I am, as I had really high hopes. it remains to be seen how they will handle the error, but my experience is tainted.
*EDIT: they have owned up to the mistake and offered no-charge rush ordering to have the ring redone. I'm adding a star for their quick acknowledgement...
