My visit to Ivars Seafood on the pier in Seattle was nothing short of fantastic, blending delicious food, speedy service, and great value with a vibrant waterfront vibe. This iconic spot exceeded expectations, making it a standout dining experience. The service was impressively fast. Even with a busy crowd, the line moved quickly, and the staff took my order with friendly efficiency. Within minutes, my food arrived, hot and perfectly prepared, letting me dive into my meal while enjoying the stunning Puget Sound views. The quick turnaround was ideal for a bustling pier location, ensuring no time was wasted. I opted for the fish and chips, a classic done right. The cod was flaky, tender, and coated in a crispy, golden batter that stayed light, not greasy. The thick-cut fries were perfectly seasoned and plentiful. I also tried the clam chowder, a creamy, flavorful bowl packed with tender clams and potatoes, offering warmth against the cool Seattle air. Every bite showcased fresh, high-quality ingredients, and the menu’s variety, from grilled salmon to shrimp, tempted me for future visits. Pricing was a pleasant surprise. For a prime waterfront spot, I braced for high costs, but Ivars keeps it affordable. My fish and chips were around $12, and a hearty bowl of chowder was under $7. These prices felt like a bargain for such generous portions and fresh seafood in a tourist hub. I left satisfied without feeling overcharged, a rare win for pier dining. The atmosphere elevated the experience. Ivars offers great indoor and outdoor seating options, catering to any preference. I chose an outdoor table to soak in the salty breeze and watch ferries glide by. The indoor seating looked cozy, perfect for cooler days. Both areas were clean and well-maintained, with a casual vibe that welcomed everyone, from locals to tourists. The staff ensured tables turned over quickly without making anyone feel rushed. A quirky highlight was the signage about the birds. Signs playfully noted that “seagulls have big appetites” while “pigeons do not,” adding a fun touch to the experience. It was a lighthearted nod to the seagulls swooping nearby, hoping for a fry, and it sparked smiles among diners. This clever detail made the setting feel even more lively and connected to the waterfront environment. The staff’s attention to detail sealed the deal. Tartar sauce and malt vinegar came in perfect portions, and the packaging was practical for eating on the go or at a table. The team was warm, answering menu questions with enthusiasm, making me feel like a valued guest despite the fast pace. Ivars Seafood on the pier is a must-visit. The food is fresh, flavorful, and fairly priced, with speedy service that doesn’t skimp on quality. The indoor and outdoor seating options, paired with the amusing seagull and pigeon signs, create a memorable atmosphere. Whether you’re after a быстрый bite or a relaxed meal with a view, Ivars nails it. I’m already planning my next trip to this Seattle gem.

Do yourself a favor ignore those other lists that you’re scouring online asking for the best waterfront dining experience in Seattle and just come to Ivars Acres of Clams. Seriously, just stop the search (you’re gonna save yourself so much time!) So, I know how you’re feeling, traveler. It’s your first time ever in Seattle… you are ✨so excited ✨ and you’re itching to find the best spot, best ambience on the waterfront and darn good seafood & staff that actually care about your experience. The online lists can be daunting, well, at least it was for me. And although there are some big names up there, I always just think to myself is this a tourist trap? So upon perusing different Google searches I found Ivars And what really stood out to me were the honest Google reviews and more importantly, the honest responses from the owner. Menu looked great on the website nice and inviting. When we entered for our res, the hostess seemed genuinely excited that we were visiting from the East Coast. That was a nice start. We were seated outside with the perfect view of the wheel, so I was pretty pumped. Our server, Cody was friendly, prompt, and efficient. He was extremely knowledgeable about the menu, which was a definite plus. The clams appetizer and my crab legs were fresh, flavorful, and certainly very memorable for my taste buds. It was the bona fide Seattle experience. The skies were turning beautiful colors, the weather was comfortable…. It truly was the perfect night. Big thanks to Cody who made our first of our trip to Seattle and to Ivars downright exceptional. Great service goes a heck of a long way, thus, the reason for this sparkling review.

It is a crime being in Seattle and not have tried the clam chowder.  While there are many places that serves and is popular for this hearty, creamy goodness, few places do it better.  And Ivar's Acres of Clams is one of those places who do it well and do it better.  With a heavy recommendation from a colleague who is a local, we took a long walk from out hotel to Ivar's acres of clams.  After a slightly longer wait, we were seated with views of the ferry terminal.  We did not waste any time and ordered our drinks and dinner. Being my first visit to Ivar's and having not tried chowders before, I decide to order the Chowder Sampler, which comes with their original Clam Chowder, a North Western Clam Chowder and a Salmon Chowder, with a portion of oyster biscuits.  My colleagues followed suit, so as to help us choose the best chowder for our main.  While I loved the Ivar's original Clam Chowder, I preferred the North Western Clam Chowder a tad bit more, because of the smoky flavors.  My least favorite was the Salmon chowder, which was as delicious as the other two, but the clam chowder, any day better than the Salmon. Having tried, 3 hearty samples of chowder with the oyster biscuits, I could not have finished a main all by myself.  So me and my colleague decide to order & share a portion of the Clam and Chips.  The food did arrive quickly and we savored the crispy and chewy deep fried clams with chips and sauce. These guys have a lot more on the menu and I would definitely want to come back to enjoy their feel good, warm North Western Clam Chowder on a rainy day.

The bar tender almost sent me away after I showed her my driver’s license that had expired within the week and explained that I was waiting for a new card (takes 2-4 weeks). She wouldn’t let me sit at the bar until I showed her a current ID, thank God I had another government id in my wallet but that was a terrible start of dinner.

If you’re a seafood enthusiast, this restaurant is an absolute treasure. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by the freshest ocean scents and an elegant yet relaxed atmosphere that immediately sets the tone for an exceptional dining experience. The menu showcases a stunning variety of seafood, with each dish prepared with care and an undeniable attention to detail.

The oysters on the half shell are a must-try—perfectly chilled and briny with a refreshing mignonette sauce that elevates their natural flavor. For something more indulgent, the lobster tail is a true showstopper, perfectly cooked with a delicate buttery finish that melts in your mouth. The seafood platter, with its generous mix of shrimp, clams, and fish, is equally impressive, served in a flavorful, creamy sauce that complements the fresh ingredients beautifully.

The drink selection is also top-notch, featuring a curated list of wines that pair perfectly with each dish, along with refreshing cocktails that add an extra layer of sophistication to the meal. The ambiance is elegant yet unpretentious, with soft lighting and a view of the open kitchen that lets you see the magic happen.

From start to finish, this seafood restaurant delivers an extraordinary dining experience. Whether you’re a seafood connoisseur or just someone looking to enjoy the best the ocean has to offer, this spot is an absolute must-visit. Highly...
