The bar tender almost sent me away after I showed her my driver’s license that had expired within the week and explained that I was waiting for a new card (takes 2-4 weeks). So, I know how you’re feeling, traveler. It’s your first time ever in Seattle… you are ✨so excited ✨ and you’re itching to find the best spot, best ambience on the waterfront and darn good seafood & staff that actually care about your experience. The online lists can be daunting, well, at least it was for me. And although there are some big names up there, I always just think to myself is this a tourist trap?

So upon perusing different Google searches I found Ivars And what really stood out to me were the honest Google reviews and more importantly, the honest responses from the owner. Menu looked great on the website nice and inviting.

When we entered for our res, the hostess seemed genuinely excited that we were visiting from the East Coast. That was a nice start. We were seated outside with the perfect view of the wheel, so I was pretty pumped.

Our server, Cody was friendly, prompt, and efficient. He was extremely knowledgeable about the menu, which was a definite plus. The clams appetizer and my crab legs were fresh, flavorful, and certainly very memorable for my taste buds. It was the bona fide Seattle experience.
