Dropped off 3 bins of clothes and shoes… went back an hour later and was offered $60+ for a few items. I Asked to see the items they were taking, and agreed to the amount.(I did ask why they didn’t take some items or any of my shoes and was told they were not in style) I got home and noticed that 3 pairs of shoes(UGGs+ sneakers) were missing from my returned items and remembered not seeing them in the items taken. I called this location immediately and was told that a mistake was made (they put my shoes in someone else’s bin) but I was in fact compensated for the missing items. I told them that if I had known that those items were included in items they were taking , that I would have taken them back(they are in great condition and are worth more than $6) please note that I live 35-40 minutes away. They told me that I can come get my items and give the $24 back from my transaction. I told them that is extremely bad business and that it’s going to cost me $20 dollars in gas to go back and forth. Twice. For an issue that was due to THEIR lack of attention to detail. I asked to speak with a manager and was told that he would call me , which he did not. I also would like to note that I received a receipt for my drop off and then I signed a key pad and was given cash…. I went in the next day to just get my items back and return the money, but still asked to speak to the manager who was supposed to call me…. He did not apologize for his incompetent staff or for my inconvenience and had the nerve to argue with me over whether or not I was given a receipt. (Because “EVERY transaction has a receipt that’s given to the customer”) he took back the money and gave me the remainder I was owed WITH NO RECEIPT lol. I asked if they give receipts with every transaction, why was I not given one for the return? He told me they don’t do receipts for that…..silly lol. I left with letting him know I would leave a review of my experience and I left. As I was about to put my seatbelt on, the manager was at my window saying he would give me a hand written receipt and I just said, it’s really okay and not necessarybecause I just won’t do business...
Read moreClothes Mentor offers a selection of name-brand clothing and accessories in good to excellent condition, making it a potentially good option for shoppers seeking value. I personally found some appealing items during my visits.
However, based on my experience, I would caution potential sellers to carefully consider their options before selling items to this particular location. I recently brought in a bag of name-brand shoes and another of name-brand purses (including Coach, Michael Kors, and others) in excellent or new condition, some with tags. While I appreciated that they accepted many of the items, including several new or nearly-new pieces, I was offered $52 for the entire lot.
While I initially accepted, I later felt that the offer may have been lower than the items' fair market value, considering their brand and condition. It's worth noting that consignment stores typically price items significantly higher than what they offer sellers to cover overhead and ensure a profit margin.
For those looking to maximize their return on name-brand clothing and accessories, exploring alternative platforms like online marketplaces (e.g., Facebook Marketplace, Poshmark) or consignment shops with different payout structures might be beneficial.
Overall, Clothes Mentor can be a worthwhile place to shop for discounted name-brand items. However, sellers should carefully weigh the convenience against the potential return before selling...
Read moreOK, I really, really enjoy this location..I have sold & bought clothes here a few times & each time, they have treated me with kindness & respect. Their customer service is excellent! I went in this past Sat-10/9 to look for an outfit for a wedding I was attending that evening & Mandy, who was right in the middle of a big project stopped what she was doing & helped me pick out a number of outfits that might have worked out. I didn't ask her to do this...she offered, which I greatly appreciated more than she realized! I ended up buying one of the outfits she put together, she even found me a handbag & shoes. My entire outfit cost me $32. 00. (And might I add it was Ann Taylor brand) I was super excited!! Then the young lady who rang me up, Cassie was amazing & friendly as well. Very personable. So if you're looking for brand name, quality, affordable clothes without paying the dept. store prices & you also want friendly & personable customer service. Please go to this location. They WILL treat...
