This restaurant offers a Chinese and Vietnam cuisines. I like their quite setting and menu with prices layout easy to read and understand. I was to get what I wanted and the food was good. Ordered an order of Bun Bo Hue and spring rolls. Their soup was amazing and I was surprised they included a Vietnamese mam tom a traditional shrimp paste for Bun Bo Hue dish. Added a little of the paste made the broth delicious and remind me of homemade food. I did really this with Bun Bo Hue. As for spring roller, as expected it was good as usual but the sauce was different and sweet for my taste. It was a hoisin sauce you got in Asian market. I wish they have a peanut sauce or make the original spring rolls sauce instead. I enjoyed my meal and wish to come by and try other fishes on my business trips along I-35. The location is very convenient and easy to find. Come by and check it out yourself. Won't be disappointed.

We have been coming here for years so I figured I should give my two cents. This place has a good variety of Asian dishes such as sesame chicken to Pho to Vermicelli bowls. This go round we discovered that they also serve hot pots. There are just a few places that serve this dish and this is definitely one of the spots to try it. They have 3 options to chose from. As you can see from the photos, the ingredients and raw and you cook them at your own pace. We enjoy this concept because it gives you time for conversation and enjoyment without your foid getting cold or overcooked. The flavor of the broth intensifies, on a good way, as you cook your ingredients. Check them out if you are in the area, outdoor dining is available for nice weather days.

Arrived 1 pm for lunch. Was seated immediately. Ordered the happy family #28 on the menu. The menu is extensive and would take a while to go through everything and I was limited on time. They have indoor and outdoor dining. I sat inside due to the heat. My water was not very cold even though it had ice. Not sure why? Ceramic plates, metal utensils, and paper napkins. Food temperature was good and it was fresh and flavorful. Overall a good lunch. I will eat here again and try some of the more exotic dishes I saw carried out to other tables.

When I go to a Vietnamese restaurant I focus on pho no matter how delicious other entrees might be. That said, strictly talking about the beef pho:

I've had many types of pho around San Antonio and I found this specific pho to be on the lemongrass and sweet side. The anise flavor is there as an after taste. I could barely taste the cinnamon. I couldn't taste or smell the optional cloves or coriander seeds. The roasted onion and ginger was a little more prominent. The savoriness of the fish sauce did hit you first though. The sugar and salt ratios weren't too bad but not to my taste. I found the broth to not be filtered to be clear of bone marrow debris and of the usual brown consistency - instead it looked a little yellow mustard side. The actual fatty savoriness of the bone marrow seemed to be ... I can't exactly describe it but, as if it had lost it's potency like when you re-heat a strew or soup too many times. For the first time in eating pho I used lemon to mask another taste.

That said, it's not a bad pho I just would never have it again. I would venture into other parts of the menu instead. For example, I was fairly surprised by the mint wrapped inside their spring rolls and the amazing peanut and chili dipping sauces. The mint, the sweet basil, and even the mung bean sprouts were incredibly home grown fresh. The Vietnamese cold coffee was excellent as well. It had the rich strength of sweet cold pressed coffee proportioned with the right amount of condensed milk. At first I didn't think the sweetness would be enough but I was mistaken - just stir vigorously.

Also, I should mention my mother loved hers without a single complaint. My younger brother wasn't too persuaded by their lemon grass chicken on the other hand. Still, this restaurant is worth a...

Terrible experience. I understand that for many English is not their primary language. Therefore, the menu should be clear on menu items, prices and what is included with the meal. However, this was not the case. The dinner specials that were listed included; an appetizer, choice of soup, entree and listed that the entrees came with pork fried rice. It stated that there was a 2 person minimum for the order. So naturally, we thought that the price listed was for 2 people. We even tried to check with our server to make sure it was correct. The server who maybe out of fear or misunderstanding agreed with us and placed the order. The appetizers and soup were fresh and fine as well as the entree. This was not the case for the rice. We unfortunately found a gnat in it. We prompted the server, He asked if we wanted them to make a new plate for us and reluctantly, we said yes. It came back fine and we were able to finish our meal. When the bill came we were charged for not one but two of the dinner specials (clearly stated that in order to purchase a minimum of two people). The hostess or maybe the manager, asked us about our experience. We brought up the bug incident and she explained that they had made us a new plate for that reason. Frustrated by this point, we paid and left no tip. I feel bad for the waiter, as he did nothing wrong and was prompt with his services. We were not out for a free meal. Maybe they could have discounted the price of the meal to offset our uneasiness of the meal and menu but it was not even an option. This will be our first and last trip to this...
