Escape Reality Comics — Attraction in Sevierville

Edit: The clerk was incredibly rude to my daughter. This person needs to be equipped with how to interact well and lovingly with people or just have a job where they do not interact with people, especially children. My teen daughter was the one who visited this store, and as she is a minor, I am giving this review on her behalf. As you should be able to see on your video footage, my daughter and her cousin were very rudely addressed in the store, which has made my daughter never want to enter your store again. I have edited the verbiage on my review to reflect on the one employee who was rude to my daughter instead of all employees. I am surprised by the response of the store which was to defend the rude actions of the employee, blatantly lie about the harsh shushing of the kids and then further, to make an ugly accusation against a customer instead of simply correcting the behavior of the employee & apologize for their rude behavior to children. Very poor experience with this store, and would not recommend anyone giving them business.

We were in town on family vacation and wanted to check out local comic stores, as we often do. My six year old son and I stopped by and after browsing for a minute or two my son needed to use the restroom. When asked, the employee working the store told me that they have a restroom, but it’s off limits to customers due to a “couple incidents” in the past. My six year old was in obvious physical discomfort, but without being allowed to use the restroom, we left.

Such a disappointment after only being able to see a very small amount of the comic selection the store had available, as well as after reading some of the great reviews the store has gotten in the past.

Friendly staff. Found some 90s X-Men books I've been wanting for years. Good prices, great selection. Highly recommended.

Update: I couldn't stop thinking about all those sweet comics so I returned for the second time while on vacation. I found the comics well organized and plentiful. A true comic shop with a great staff. Day 1 I found some 30 year old X-Men comics which were in amazing condition. EMACULATE. Day 2 I returned with a vengeance and found several titles that have been on my list for 30+ years. I'd also like to add that I left with 16 books and I never questioned the prices. They were more than fair and I will definitely be budgeting for a third trip to Escape Reality before I go...
