I showed up at 05:30 for an 06:00 live unload apt. My reefer fuel was right at 3/4 when I checked it 1 hour prior to delivery. Mind you I have never had a RECEIVER ask me about reefer fuel levels on a live unload, only shippers. The employee that was checking me in said the reefer was reading at 1/2. I explained that the fuel gauge “floats”, and since their entry gate is on a bit of a slope that was causing the misread. Common occurrence in my reefer tank and most reefer tanks. I asked if I could pull onto flat ground to let the gauge even out to show the actual reading and was denied. They instead made me leave and drive 30 minutes to/from the nearest truck stop to fill my reefer up. 1 hour total and 50 miles of driving wasted. Make sure you have 2-3 DAYS worth of reefer fuel (full tank) when you pull in here to unload. Anything less and they’ll freak out and refuse you. They then proceeded to take 5 hours to unload me. The docks are extremely tight to get into depending on how many trucks are currently docked. The long unload time plus the extra 50 miles of driving just to get 8 gallons of reefer fuel ruined my entire schedule for my next load. Was late for the pickup and delivery due to this. Even if I had only had 1/2 a tank (which I did not) I can’t see any scenario where a guard would be that anal for someone doing a live unload to deny...
Read moreVery poor backing space and unprofessional security check in service. A y1oung lady at Smithfield security in springdale had an extremely bad attitude. She was curled in a ball and didn't want to be disturbed to do her job for some reason. I could not hear her through the glass and she got extremely rude when I motioned to my ear that I could not hear her. Maybe she shouldn't do security if she doesn't like her job. If you're have a bad day you don't need to bring that to work and treat other people poorly. I feel sorry for the young man who was working with her because he's extremely nice and professional in comparison. Her on the other hand treated me poorly, had an attitude, talked and acted in an extremely unprofessional manner. Stopping around like a 2 year old and making...
Read moreAwful place to come. Only tjing positive is it has overnight parking. Even the worker here agree how ridiculous it is to require refrigerated trucks to have at least 3/4 of fuel WHEN BEING LIVE LOADED. they will turn you around at the gate. There are two different buildings 801 and 805. Building 805 is fenced in and doors 18 thru 22 is hard to get into. Have to blindside back in. The yard jockey keep parking his vehicle in the way. Slow unloading. Workers kept loading and unload drop trailers like we truckers wasn't there. Only one truck could get unloaded at a time and that's whenever they felt like it. Don't waste your time trying to call management. No one will answer. Appt was at 6am. It's almost 9am. Loader just put a lock on my trailer but still hasnt started...
