Very disappointed. I wanted to like this place and continue to give them business after my first experience was good. But it has gone downhill since. And today was the worst. I was a walk-in so I expected a wait. I even asked the person working by the sign in book about how long it was going to be. I didn't get a straight answer but it didn't seem like too long. Two hours later, on a MONDAY, I had no upates and the three employees working downstairs had all finished with their client, looked over at me, said nothing, then left to go to lunch while doing everything they could to avoid eye contact with me. (By the way, I don't own my own business but I'm assuming during business hours, having no employees on your main floor is a bad thing.) It was only when what I'm assuming was the manger came down to get someone and ask me if I was ok, that someone acknowledged me. She then said sorry and just went back and scolded her employee. He then came out and told me i had to wait for the stylist to come back and one more person in front of me. So I left. There were multiple opportunities to inform me I wasn't going to be able to to be seen until the afternoon. I wasted my time and no attempt was made to make it right. I will not be returning and will be advising others to stay away.
UPDATE: I called ahead to see if there were openings and get an idea of a wait, I asked the person up front when I arrived and I was not told it was a long wait either time. Yes I did see the other names ahead of me on the list. I also saw three of them crossed out. That makes two ahead of me, correct? I never said anything about the amount of time it was taking until talking to you. None of the barbers spoke to me unless it was to ask me to close the door, which I replied "no problem" and closed it. I politely sit in the corner waiting my turn when I was asked if I wanted a drink I responded "no thank you". I was in a great mood before arriving and was extremely patient until I found myself in an empty parlor with no idea of what was going on and no idea on the amount of time it was going to be. I would appreciate you not lying to make you and your staff look better and also please refrain from attacking me personally on other forms of social media for speaking out about an upleasent experience I had at your establishment in a...
Read moreUpdate: Again, you made me wait 3 hours for a hair cut and acted like it wasn’t that big of a deal. Why would a give a company another shot when they act like making customers wait 3 hours is standard practice. If you went out to eat and had to wait 3 hours for your food would you give them 0 stars? If you went to buy an article of clothing and it took the clerk 3 hours to get to the counter would you give them 0 stars? I thought 1 star was decent for waiting 3 hours and still not getting a haircut but it sounds like that should be standard in your line work? Hate to break it to ya but making someone wait 3 hours for a haircut and still not cutting their hair deserves a one star review. I have been to several other places to get my haircut and not a single one of them made me wait 3 hours and then turn me away. It’s your job to fix it…not mine. You acted like it wasn’t a big deal then and your acting like making someone wait is 3 hours for a haircut is not a big deal now. You wanted to know what you did wrong so I told you. I had a great holiday and have been having a great holiday with a shop who cares. Best of luck to ya
This happened years ago but I remember it like it was yesterday. I was three minutes late to an appointment and they said that the barber I was scheduled with had already taken someone else. I completely understand and they asked if I would like to wait. I decided to wait and 45 minutes later they came to me and said my barber had to go to lunch. I decided to still wait. Then 30 minutes later they said my barber “had to bounce” and asked if I wanted to sit on the walk in list. I was leaving town the next day and really needed a haircut so I decided to continue to wait. After waiting one and a half hours AND them telling me I would be coming up soon the woman at the front desk tells me that, after waiting almost three hours for being three minutes late for an appointment, that they are not going to be able to get to me and wanted to reschedule. Sorry, but after being treated that way and STILL keeping my cool you...
Read moreMy boyfriend had followed Meg from Southtown Barbershop. Started ok although he always seemed to wait for over an hour as his job requires him to be flexible. He liked the new spot and the hip vibe. They clearly advertise walk-ins welcome; as it is all over their Instagram and Facebook. However, the staff ALWAYS seemed more than annoyed when he would. Out of courtesy he began showing up before the shop even opened to make the walk in process easier. He has never been particular about the choice of barber as he understood, he did just walk-in. After over 4 years of loyal patronization with tips of $20-$30 on a $30 men's cut to show his gratitude for their accommodation, he will not be back. He accepted a call from an important client while waiting this morning & was quickly chastised by one of the barbers who had to YELL over the loudly blaring music..."Go upstairs if you are going to talk on your cell phone!" How is this productive? Many times the wait is over an hour long! How could anyone be distracted by a phone conversation compared to the music that is always playing? He has been a loyal and generous as well as patient patron, yet was treated as if he was nobody. Today there was no please, no excuse me, no walking over to him and simply reminding him that cell phones are requested to not be used. The situation was handled wrong and, from what I can gather...this is the kind of customer DIS-service one can expect to receive. Boo. He will...
