My husband and I have stayed in Stowe VT for many years. In 2019 we walked into VonBargen’s for the very first time. I picked out a beautiful pair of Amali earrings that I saw in the Stowe magazine. When I got them home I accidentally broke one of them taking it out of the box. I contacted Nicole and she responded immediately and had me send it back for repair. The repair was taken care of quickly and she shipped them back to me. She communicated with me every step of the way. That was August of 2019. Since then, we make VonBargen’s one of our stops every time we are in Stowe. Sometimes we just go in and catch up with Nicole, Rebecca and Katelin. We have bought some beautiful pieces of jewelry over the years but it is the warm greeting when we walk in the door then makes it one of our favorite places. My husband and I were in Stowe at the beginning of September and little did I know, he had been working through e-mail with Nicole to have them put aside a pair of earrings we saw in June. He snuck payment to Rebecca and Katelin kept me busy trying on new, fun pieces of jewelry. I was so surprised when we went to say goodbye and there was a beautifully wrapped present on the counter for me. They all enjoyed being in on the surprise. We love the jewelry at VonBargen’s but it is the wonderful people who work there that make the experience amazing! Can’t wait to visit again...
Read moreNot truthful or just a bad day? I popped into Von Bargen's Jewelry a bit after noon today and asked if they worked on watches. I have a unique metal watch that needed a couple of clips/panels of the wristband removed.
The owner told me that they didn't service watches. I asked if there was anybody nearby they recommended and she told me that "nobody in the Stowe area works on watches. The most nearby place is TickTock in Burlington." I thanked her and left but couldn't quite believe that nobody in Stowe would service watches. On my way out of town, I stopped at Ferro (another jeweler down the road) and lo and behold, they were super kind and altered my watch for me on the spot! Thank you, Patrick.
I then asked the owner of Ferro's if there was any reason the blonde lady at Von Bargen's told me there wasn't anybody in town would work on watches. He seemed puzzled for a bit and then said that she sends anybody asking for "watch work" their way.
Hm. Not sure why I was sent to Burlington vs. 100 yards down the road.
It's unfortunately because the jewelry in the display cases looked stunning but based on my experience earlier, I'd rather spend my...
Read moreOf all the places I've lived (NY, CA, DC, VT) and of all the jewelry stores I've frequented - Von Bargen's Stowe is my favorite jewelry store ever! Everything about the store is great - the building itself is beautiful - the staff is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and fun to work with - and the team curates jewelry from gifted artists who create stunning and unique designs, all while being mindful of the environment using sustainably-sourced diamonds and recycled metals. Jill Zborovancik expertly worked with my husband to choose a one-of-a-kind Todd Reed engagement ring for me and the following year when we chose wedding bands that needed to be specially made - and in a huge rush of course :) - Jill worked directly with the artist while he was busy at huge trade show in Vegas to ensure both of our rings were hand-forged, finished and shipped overnight to us in time for our wedding day! If you get a chance, you must head in to the store in Stowe and check out their lovely jewelry - ask for Jill Zborovancik or Laurie Sasko - they will both take such good...
