I was very excited about the grand opening of this location. I'm half German and have spent half my life in Germany shopping at ALDI stores. I was disappointed in the organic pesticide free/ non-GMO selection, but what mostly disappointed me was the self-checkouts that are cashless only. Extremely disappointing. ALDI store check outs in Germany all still accept cash. Matter of fact 3 years ago when I lived there last, there were no self-checkouts whatsoever. Apparently ALDI is now supporting the up and coming One World government's ban on cash so they have total control over our finances. Is that what you stand for ALDI? Taking what little freedom we have left? Clearly you want to be part of the problem instead of backing your consumers. Are you receiving government funds to support your switch to cashless payment systems? Consequently my friends and family who are all disappointed about this will discontinue shopping at ALDI stores where we cannot pay with cash, as apparently you've already decided whose...
Read moreNot much of a reviewer but I hate seeing people bash on Aldi! I know it might not be for everyone and that’s okay because the store is small and can’t fit all the people who do love it. But wow is this store gaining traction. I love that it’s so close to me.
Aldi is EU based so the standards of use are much different than typical American stores which is part of why I love it so much. I love getting to use my own bags or if I forget, they have so many boxes I can use! I’ve always been one to return my cart but the quarter is more of an incentive to put it back.
I’m not a name brand shopper, and most of the time I’m getting ingredients instead of boxed/processed foods as I like to make as much as I can homemade so I find they always have what I need!
Only bummer is when they have seasonal items I fall in love with, wish I could have the summer iced...
Read moreThe fact that people are complaining about the shopping carts and lack of bags is astounding. Aldi has been around in Europe and the rest of the USA for a while now, so this isn't a new concept. You do not have to 'rent' a shopping cart, you just have to place a quarter in it so it unlocks from the rest of the carts to prevent theft. Additionally, if you put the cart back where it belongs (which you should be doing) you get your quarter back!!! I'm actually astounded this ALDI has bags to begin with, because the one that I went to back home in Germany did not, so most Americans here are lucky because we did not even have the option of bags. I thoroughly love ALDI's selection of produce, and their frozen desserts are so yummy! With the size of the German selection here it truly makes me feel like I'm...
