Poke2U — Restaurant in Tempe

The sandwich board pictures outside are very misleading. They only had 1 veggie sushi roll, and it was the worst roll I have ever had. Pic showed 3 or 4 fresh veggies like carrot, celery, cucumber type. What I got instead was edamame and seaweed salad, which made for a flimsy roll that competely fell apart. There was no ginger or wasabi either. Sushi is one of my favorite foods and this place does not know what they are doing. I was excited about the custom ramen bowls until they said you could only get them with pork broth. Don't bother with this place if you are vegetarian or vegan, there's only 3 veg options: 1 roll of whatever they decide to throw in it (not even fresh veggie) or custom poké bowl, which just did not have good flavors to me at all, and veggie potsticker, (these were actually good). Better off going around to the other side of building to Desert Roots...

I decided to treat my self to some poke after a morning hike, I arrived to Mill Ave and all the parking spots were taken so I parked around the block in a public parking.

I arrived at lunch time, there was plenty of space to seat, I built my own poke with raise and leafs as a base, chose salmon and spicy tuna for proteins, and I picked pretty much all the sides except for corn, jalapeños and cilantro because I didn't really want to mix my taco ingredients with my poke.

I chose a green tea for beverage and got offered a complimentary miso soup that was pretty yummy.

I just left Poke2U and had a truly enjoyable meal with friends. The food was excellent and because I was with friends, we shared each other's selections. Tonight I ordered the BBQ Beef over rice with all of the available toppings. My friend had a Poke bowl over mixed greens. This was not my first visit so I had high expectations that were exceeded. We all had bowls of their homemade Miso soup.

For the first time, I also shared one of their Poke Wraps that I really enjoyed. It was quite good and I thought it would make for a perfect lunch item due to its great flavor and easy portability.
