This was a nice place to rest the legs after pedaling nearly one-hundred miles on my Trek last week, September 7th, '19. Unfortunately I could not swim because my bike doesn't go near sand or salt water and there isn't a place to secure an expensive piece of equipment out of my sight even with two cables or chains with locks. On a long journey I eliminate extra weight to maximize speed. So, locks and cables are sacrificed and left at home anyway. Good advice I think for anyone pedaling here for the first time. If you rent a room this point is moot.

The best way to enjoy Kirk Park Beach is the methodology most people follow: don't bring valuables on the beach if you intend to swim. To make this review more useful is to let you know that Montauk Village provides a grocery store, deli, bars and restaurants all in one area so you may walk or drive a couple blocks to find what you want.

If you are on vacation in Montauk and wish to frequent this piece of ocean, there is ample lodging very close so you may, again, walk from your room to the surf in a matter of minutes. Keep your valuables in a safe if there is one in your room or behind the front desk there may be a secure place.

Hero Beach Club and Breakers is the closest for lodging at Kirk Park Beach. I am not endorsing these two places to lodge, but it would be the first places I would consider. Do your homework for pricing and availability. Did you need this advice? Probably not but it's for free.

Enjoy...

Nice day on the beach, a little overcast at times, but a slight breeze making the humidity felt in town much more bearable..... On a humid day, the beach is the only place to be and in the water.... Ocean was nice, but with waves breaking on the shoreline, it made it hard to ride the waves in.... But once you get past the breakers, I had a nice long swim further out in calm seas..... A helpful young man helped me out of the shoreline, as a wave knocked me off balance..... And once you go down, it's hard to get back up when you're laughing so hard..... Nice people on the beach.... Stairs going up and down to get onto the beach, but not too difficult or long for those that are physically challenged... Very nice on the eastern side of a...

I have gone to this beach every summer for the past few years. I was unaware that if you were not a resident you could not go to this beach. There was no individual at a toll booth explaining this. No signs that were large enough to see as well. No signs in the parking lot that I parked in either! Also, it says on the sign “public bathrooms”.. there was no sign that said public bathrooms for residents ONLY... Its actually really sad these “traffic patrol officers” are doing this for a living.. charging individuals 150$ just to go to the beach. Maybe they should go find criminals & arrest them instead of giving people parking tickets.. Thats what they do for a living. A job that requires NO SKILL. I will NEVER GO BACK...

This could possibly be one of the cleanest and prettiest beaches I have ever been too. Being from Brooklyn I am used to all kinds of debris (especially glass) on the sand when visiting Coney Island. I could see that this beach is very well maintained. The only thing you have to look out for is either Jellyfish or High Tide while either lying out or just walking on the sand. I was staying at a nearby motel, so I didn't have to deal with the parking situation, which I hear is pretty steep. I will definitely come here again the next time I am in the area.

Beautiful dune, ocean beach with free parking - a rarity for the area. Yes this is the working man’s beach of Montauk but you shouldn’t turn up your nose at this solid public option in the heart of Montauk. A major plus of this beach is that there is not a sizable drop off. You can walk very far out making this a good option for kids. However, the surf can be rough. Conveniently located with an IGA and 7-Eleven just steps away. Just note that the bathroom facilities are over the dune in the parking area.

A walkable beach from the village. The people are a mix from out of towners to locals. A family oriented beach too with kids making sand castles and boogie boarding till their hearts content. There are singletons where you can bask in the sun and one can find a spot away from the crowds. If you fancy some people watching, a good amount of surfers and beach goers will feast your eyes. The water is clear, the sand is soft among your toes. What are you waiting for, have a beach day here.
