I am writing this review to inform future travellers to Montauk and share my negative experience with this particular hotel. This isn’t about money, it’s about the basic respect and courtesy expected from a hospitality business branding itself as "high-end." I had to cancel my reservation due to a medical emergency with my senior dog. The hotel initially said the decision was up to Expedia, which I understood since I booked a non-refundable option through Expedia. However, when Expedia approved the cancellation with full refund, the hotel rejected my request. While I understood policies regarding non-refundable rates, communication with front desk staff, Mariam, was confusing and unprofessional. She referenced a 14-day hotel cancellation window that I could not find on their website (their FAQ page is currently not complete), and when I explained my confusion about which policy governed the process, she abruptly ended the conversation, saying, “I am not discussing this matter with you anymore.” I left two voicemails for the manager, Carlo, which went unanswered, though Expedia staff were able to reach him while I was on hold. This whole experience caused unnecessary confusion, stress, and delays during an already difficult situation. I usually choose five-star hotels to avoid hassles and ensure quality service. With limited dog-friendly options in Montauk, this hotel was the only choice with a "seems like a nice place" vibe given their price range. Given that this place is pretty new (opened in June 2025), I strongly urge the owner to review staff training, including managerial oversight, and improve communication to ensure professionalism and equitable treatment. The experience was so poor that I even questioned whether my foreign name and accent influenced the dismissive and disrespectful behavior. By contrast, Expedia staff were extremely helpful, mediating the situation and providing $300 in compensation for the hotel staff’s rudeness, which is ironic, as the hotel itself offered no redress. I hope future travelers have a far smoother and more welcoming experience than I did. However, I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel until there is clear evidence that management has fully addressed staff training and...
Read moreMy partner and I stayed in a one bedroom condo with our dog. The staff is very friendly and attentive, always saying hello/checking in whenever they see you passing by. The unit itself is beautiful and you can tell they took great care with the aesthetic and finishing. The bed was super comfortable to sleep in and bath towels were extremely soft! The condo has an open kitchen layout with a dishwasher and induction stove, and even an in-unit washer/dryer. It’s a great place to stay that can feel like a home away from home.
The location is also very convenient - across from Kirk Beach and walking distance from the downtown area with all the shops and restaurants. They have a cozy pool area that’s up to 4ft. deep. We ended up staying there a couple of hours because they have an awesome playlist!
Since the place just opened, it seems like they are still putting in some of the finishing touches. There were still a couple of missing essentials from the unit, such as a knife set in the kitchen for cooking, iron for clothes and a toilet roll holder/hand towel holder in the bathroom. While they provide dishwasher pods for cleaning, a dish soap/sponge would be more convenient for washing smaller items as we didn’t want to be wasteful in running the dishwasher to clean just a few dishes and utensils.
One caveat that we did have about the place is the thin walls. You can hear the sounds of people talking next door. We were also on the first floor and there was a family above our unit. You can hear heavy footsteps quite noticeably, enough to be a bother when you’re trying to unwind or watch tv at night.
Overall, our stay was wonderful, the staff attentive and we definitely will consider coming back for a longer stay the next time we’re in Montauk! Can’t beat a clean, pet-friendly and convenient place...
Read moreFirst time staying at Offshore since they just opened, but I’ve been coming to Montauk for years—and this place is a standout. The hotel is beautiful, the staff is incredibly friendly, and the rooms are spotless and stylish. I genuinely enjoyed every minute of my stay.
The beach service was excellent—super attentive and professional. Nico is an outstanding manager, and the rest of the team (wish I had their names!) went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The location couldn’t be better—right by the ocean and just a short walk to everything in town.
Bonus points for the beautiful showers and the Byredo products—such a nice touch. Highly recommend visiting if you’re looking for a relaxing, elevated Montauk experience.
Update: came back in the end of July and the place is still amazing! The stuff is great and very precessional. This time we stayed in suite so we could work at the table and wow the room is amazing. It has everything for comfortable stay like at your own apt. Washer and dried is great to have while on vacation for last min laundry) but the best part in suite for me was a steam shower, really luxurious experience! Also since we been 1st time they opened gym and spa, also incredible and never had on in Montauk before. Overall both stays were amazing and can’t wait to come back! Thank you...
