Hungry for great pizza & good service??? Well then leave plenty of room for dessert! The staff at Pizza Village is the best! They don’t care about what anyone thinks! Everyone there is super chill & super laid back…so there’s a great chance that good service won’t even cross their minds! Come to think of it, Pizza Village has such a relaxed environment that they don’t even care about service or pizza…you might actually not even have to get any pizza or any service at all! Highly recommend!
For the 4th night this week, I’ve been unable to get any pizza or service (or any acknowledgment, for that matter) because they want to lock their doors LONNG before closing time (10pm, according to Pizza Village) Four times this week? Absolutely ridiculous. Each night they have seen me arrive even earlier than the night before… Arriving an hour before they close isn’t early enough apparently. So leave room for dessert, cause you’re not getting any pizza, you’ll get ignored. Not turned away…ignored!
There are three places in this town to choose from & no one else closes before they say. I just wanted to have some pizza after work. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect a business to keep to their hours…if you want to close early…then change your hours!!!
To avoid a repeat disappointment… I figured I’d just order a whole pizza for myself, so I called at 8:44…but they didn’t even answer the friggin’ phone! They just let it ring & ring & ring! And I called sevveral times. So I left work early just so I could pick something up, but was met with total & utter indifference. The doors were locked at 9pm, the lights were all on & several staff members were lounging in the back, vaping & eating pizza in the parking lot. I was so aggravated. And I could SEEE through the window, that there were nuuumerous individual slices stillll available turning around under the heater! I mean…reallly people? Are you kidding me?
You would think…. That selling someone a few slices witnessing them make FOUR failed (& embarrassing) attempts for pizza jusst might appeal to anyyy business, right? …but NO0O…Not theese model samaritans!
So…Despite my varied efforts, I walked away without pizza, amazed at the outstanding calibre of inconsideration by which this entire establishment seems to operate.
You want pizza? They’ve got pizza! Just be sure to get there on time! (Whenever that might be…it changes depending on how they feel that day)
Oh no! They closed early? No other options? Still hungry? Awe well….Just have dinner at 7/11! They don’t give a...
Read moreThe waitstaff was very friendly and helpful. There was a lot of people inside waiting for take-out. The dining area is small with both booth and table and chair seating. My guests, my son and my two grandchildren, got their orders of lasagna, a meatball parmesan hero and chicken strips in a timely manner. They all enjoyed their meals while I sat with nothing to eat. I had ordered a small (4-slice) plain pizza pie. As my guests we're finishing their meal I was able to flag down the waitress to inquire how much longer on the pizza. She said she would find out for me. She came back about three minutes later and told me it would be another five minutes. I was already waiting for thirty-five minutes so I had to ask her for them to make mine "to go". I was "starving" by the time we got back to the car, so I grabbed a slice right away. The taste was just okay, nothing fantastic. They could use a bit more flavor in their sauce. If it is a 'homemade' sauce, they need to simmer it longer and maybe add some basil or a touch of oregano. It was quite uncomfortable to sit and watch three other people eating and not even have the waitress let me know that my wait was going to be so long and even offer me a small slice of bread to tide me over until I had to inquire myself.
All in all, a nice little pizzaria, basically clean with friendly staff, and okay food, but they all lack on the dining-in service when they have so many people standing in the front all waiting for take-out.
Their cook staff needs to communicate more with their waitstaff so their patrons can be properly served. If this continues, I doubt their business will grow.
We only went there because by 2pm both of the near by pancake houses (Where we originally wanted to go) had just closed for the day and this pizzaria was the closest place...
Read moreIf you are craving pizza in Montauk, nothing should stop you from going to Pizza Village. It has been a Montauk staple for longer than I've been alive, while all the other pizza places have turned over. Having lived various places now, and tasted a lot of pizza, I can say their's is solid but not exceptional for Long Island (which has some of the best pizza in the country) and excellent when compared to the other parts of the state/country I've eaten pizza in. Their crust has a nice chew, their cheese is decent quality, but I think their sauce on the regular pie lacks. I found the sauce on their Sicilian to be much better (and found their Sicilian to be as good as almost any I've had).
My favorite is always a plain cheese, so I can't talk too much about the types of pies, but I think their meat pies use decent quality meat. My family really likes their white pie with broccoli. I think they used to spread the ricotta like sauce, which I thought was good. Now the ricotta is placed in clumps, which I don't personally love.
FYI, you can only sit in the dinning room if you order a whole pie (or non-pizza food, I assume). There are benches outside, if you want a slice. Usually I am either picking it up to take to my parent's or walking around town anyway, so this hasn't...
