Gross dive bar run by elitist conservatives. I grew up going here but they clearly can't handle the growth of East Hampton's popularity, as it is just disgustingly packed and poorly managed. Really expensive drinks are the norm out here, but theirs are also tiny and made with run-of-the-mill ingredients and no attention to detail. They also discriminate based on people's beliefs. I live here and have my whole life, I've even served as an elected official in town, and the bouncer said if you are local or military there is no cover. I told him I was local as I live in East Hampton Town (which Montauk is part of), but since my ID said Amagansett he wouldn't let me in for free. My girlfriend paid the 10 dollar cover for the two of us meanwhile, which I didn't even notice, and we went in for one overpriced drink with our friends. Inside I learned that our friends who were not locals said they were locals and didn't pay and he didn't check the addresses on their IDs, and I learned that my gf had paid for the two of us who are locals. So I went out to talk to the bouncer and get our 20 bucks back. I said I'm a local and I want my 20 bucks back. He said no but if I'm military it's free, and I said "military doesn't matter as much as being a local" and before I even finished the sentence he goes "military doesn't matter? get this guy outta here" and he had me thrown out. He didn't even listen to my entire sentence! No, I don't believe the American military does much good anymore, that's my own belief, and it shouldn't have any bearing on whether or not I can enter an establishment. If they want to be military-loving nationalists, that's their prerogative, but they can't deny me access because I don't agree with their beliefs. That's discrimination in my book. I want my 20 bucks back not because of the money, but simply on principle at this point. They never answer the phone either. Just don't go...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe worst experience Iāve ever had in a bar. Not only weāre we charged 20 dollars for just standing around in a crowded patio with no music, we had to wait for over an hour to get into the actual dancing area inside the venue. The line was not respected at all by the bouncers and they would let groups of 6+ people through even though they didnāt even make the line. When we finally got inside it was insanely overcrowded making it impossible to dance, breathe or even sway to the music. The floor was a pool of alcohol and God knows what else and every time someone walked past you we would be splashed. It was so hot and smelled so horrible that even after waiting for an hour to get in we decided to leave after 20 minutes. I would not even recommend this bar to my worst enemy. I hope to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis happened almost 2 months ago and I still think about it to this day. This place was nasty. Ordered a Long Island for my gf and I and neither was drinkable. Paid $50. Inside was so overpacked I'm surprised nobody got crowdcrushed. Probably because the music wasn't worth dancing to so everyone was just standing inside being sweaty. They just get as many people inside as possible to collect cover charges then let you suffer from boredom and legit the worst drinks I've ever...
