Venchi Chocolate & Gelato Roosevelt Field — Attraction in Town of Hempstead

Was heading to Laderach which is our go to when we decided to pop in Venchi instead on the way to dinner. I'd describe our visit as one of the most magical, transformative and positive experiences one can have at a retail chocolate store. The service provided by Roydel and the team was top tier, starting from the gelato and tastings accommodated with such friendly and helpful descriptions without a hint of passive tone that is usually accompanied with endless requests for all flavors (yes we're all guilty of this and you know what im talking about.) The pralines and the pick your own selection was where we spent the most time, with Roydel patiently going over the highlights of each and every piece we were interested in with the tasting box and sharing every piece with such delight, it was the genuine joy and excitement for me. Our visit ended so decadently with one last taste test of their hot chocolate, i have no words for how luxurious and out of the world consuming this rich but not too thick and not too sweet concoction that seemed to be imported straight from willy wonkas secret lab. The worst customer service ever! The server in the front name kamil or Camil. She wouldn’t give her name. She was very rude. We were next online and so my daughter was looking at ice cream favors. She says no you have to order first. I said yes but my daughter is looking to see what she wants. We were ready and I see her taking another customer my husband told her we are ready to order she goes no stand over and pay first there to order. We were so upset with her behavior. She knew we were next but because we were looking at the flavors I don’t understand how we were suppose to order without looking at the flavors. She was rude as soon as we went inside the store but I ignored it because of my kids, but after this behavior I was very upset. We were planning on buying ice cream and the chocolates which we have originally came for and we ended up only buying ice cream for my daughter. We have spent over 200s of dollar in the store last week not including my other family members. But non of us will be returning here again. Do better with hiring better workers who respect customers. We kept seeing this gelato place on social media and are always looking for a good gelato place, finally made it here for a random Sunday afternoon visit and so glad we did! I am a pistachio fanatic and found the best pistachio chocolates, their pistachio gourmet has pistachio as the 1st ingredient! Finally! The bar is as delicious and sadly enjoyed all in 1 day even though I meant for it to last. Their pistachio chocolate truffles are delicious as well! And ofcourse I had to give the pistachio gelato a taste, absolutely fantastic! I think this will be a stop on every mall visit from now on, if only for that pistachio gourmet classic bar.
