I keep thinking about my last trip here. I used to love coming in because not only are the food products good, I've always loved their decorations.
However, the last time I was here I was very turned off from ever coming here again. As I was checking out, the staff member helping me was very rude and patronizing to one of the other employees working behind the counter. She was nice to my face, and then when she spoke to her employee (here I'm assuming it was a manager/employee situation because of the questions being asked and the tasks being handed out) she was rude and her tone was awful. I wish I would've said something at the time, but it was an extremely awkward situation! I couldn't believe how she was treating her employee in front of the entire store. I have been in the employee's shoes before, and if I had been spoken to that way, I would've been very upset.
It definitely seemed like the she was trying to teach her employee a lesson by embarrassing her in front of everyone who was there, and I just think that is wrong. No one deserves to be spoken to that way.
I won't be coming back, and it's because Bon Bons doesn't seem to treat their employees with any sort of respect or...
Read moreCame to Huntington for my aunt’s 90th birthday party. Bought a pound of chocolate for her and tripped as I presented her with the box. Chocolates flew everywhere and I put each one back into the box. Called the chocolatier the next morning, explained the freak accident to the manager, and asked her if I could simply bring the chocolate back and have it replaced, advised her that I just purchased it the day before, and had been patronizing the chocolatier for over 30 years. The manager condescendingly replied: “I don’t understand, was there something wrong with the chocolate when you walked out with it?” It takes plenty of self disdain and general misunderstanding of kindness and respect to treat unsuspecting patrons so poorly. Shame on you women at Bon Bons (because the other women are just as nasty). Don’t bother to respond to this post with a lackluster apology, you meant every word you said, including your disregard for...
Read moreThe customer service is abysmal. Don't expect to get any kind of greeting or acknowledgement and if you ask for a box for half a pound of chocolate you'll likely get the dirtest look from anyone working in a chocolate shop.
This place would've received regular business from me since I come to Huntington often, but it's their loss. I don't think this store will be in operating in the future since the workers already act as though they'll be looking for new jobs soon; I only hope they'll find work that they'll enjoy but then again if you can't find joy working in a chocolate store, where can you find it? Maybe Disney world needs a good kick in the...
